  1. A lot of great suggestions. I think the resin being poured from high is for the silicone when creating the mold. A pressure pot seems like a big expense if you're casting small parts. Not an expert but this works for me every time. Microwave mold for 1 minute per pound. Powder it right after. Stir slower, don't "whip it" per say. The metal pick is a good idea if you have slower, clear setting resin. If you can't see the bubble you can't push it out. Also if your mold has imperfections in the spots where your bubble are appearing, then they're actually not bubbles. The smallest imperfection will show when you pull the resin from the mold. Maybe some pics of your finished product may also help us help you identify the issue.
  2. Odd indeed. Not sure if it convinces me. Do you have pics with all the doors closed?
  3. I love those snow shots. If we ever get snow here in west Texas, I'll; make sure to take a few. Here's a group of 1950 Fords me and the guys build on a different forum for a contest we had. Same kit, different ideas. These are some of my favorite group shots I have
  4. Thanks everyone. These were test shots originally and turned out better than I thought and decided to share these. No belts.
  5. Good choice of color. Any engine pics?
  6. Very nice. Love the windows all around.
  7. That looks great, John.
  8. Yeah I'd be careful guys. That's how it start with every new ID s/he gets. First starts sending out the items and then all of a sudden once he has some buyers with a few hundred dollars already paid up, he stops sending everything. Buttercup has been selling, so called, left items from his or her ex/husband but if you look at the completed listings, it's the same stuff over and over again. So apparently same dirtbag, same product, still casting. Don't get me wrong, if you do get your stuff, most of it is fine. But if you end up in that group that isn't going to get them, well, let's just say these are fair warnings.
  9. Thanks guys. I think you might be right, Chris. Gonna have to find more.
  10. Thank you all for your comments. I appreciate the support.
  11. Appreciate the comments everyone. Stan n Harry, I completely missed the door handles and lower windshield trim. Didn't even notice til you guys mentioned it. Will have to take of that. Scott, it is not a working tailgate. But it is not glued on either. I let it like this king thinking I could make it a mini diorama later. Parked in the sand with the tailgate open and the surfboards in the sand. There a few details you cants see unless you're looking close. Wasn't able to capture everything in pics. Here's the link to the progress thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=90639 Harry, the umbrella is scratch built. It's a toothpick and a plain paper towel. Cut it it to scale, painted and then tied it up with a small ribbon.
  12. Here are the finished pics. Lots of fun building this one.
  13. Thank you all for you comments. This one is finished. Check it out in the Under Glass section Thanks for following along.
  14. Thanksguys. Here are a few more pics with more parts and some of them in place.
  15. Thank you folks. I worked a little bit more. The detail pieces are coming together. Here's a shot of the interior with some sunglasses on the dash and on the seat. One of the coolers is done. Need to add some scribbling on the side of the cooler and maybe also the cans inside. And finally, took the helmet that comes with the kit and modified it to a cap.
  16. The tires are from the Revell 31 ford sedan 3 in 1 kit. I wish I could tell you where the wheels came from. Found them in my parts box.
  17. Thank you folks.
  18. Thank you guys.
  19. Thank you guys. Your comments are motivational! Appreciate it!
  20. A few more pics...
  21. Built this one for our MOTM Patriotic build in another forum. Learned quite a bit from this one.
  22. I hope this is true! scaleDreams had some great stuff. Anyone know his eBay seller name by any chance?
  23. I didn't. It was in my parts box. No idea where it came from but from looking at it, looks like it could easily be done with balsa wood or styrene.
  24. Thank you guys. More coming.
