Pat, what kit was your smart? Should i take a look around for the revell or so and send it to you? For my entrie, i choosed the Porsche 356 engine for the bug, will make "the authentic style". It is in progress...lowered and frontaxle shortened. Some pictures will follow these days.

the "great" differents between sedan and convertible is the year of production. -> the sedan (GTI) is the first decade of mark I Golf, means, it has Chrome bumpers (but no chromeparts in the box!), another Dashboard (round instrumenthouses), steering wheel and those black "wheelshousecovers" (<- dont know, what they called) on the Body. -> the Cabrio is the second decade of mark I Golf, means it has the black bumpers, new Dashboard (cube instrumenthouse) and not the molded "wheelhousecovers" I dont know, what sprues they put in to the Rabbit! Like the new tooled beetle, ROG should think about sell them not as "California Wheels" as they do (if the cover is above right). On the cover, it is not the GTI-Body with those black "wheelhousecover" and i am not sure, they molded the sedan without it. It would be easier, to call it "European Line" or something like that. in fact, then you know what you get and it dont needed riddles, whats in the box, is it european or american spec. i think, we should wait till one of you guys get one and open it to take a look inside the box. all other will be make riddles. for interests, here are two links how they could look - dont Forget, tey are european specs!: "out of the box" - Sedan GTI >Golf I GTI< modified Sedan Looks like a Basic Golf >1975 Golf GL< And thats, whats in the box in Germany: >Golf I GTI< >Golf I Cabriolet<

I agree with the 456 engine Jason. thats what i am think about...use a 4-cylinder in the back could be the easy way...or should i build a 6-cylinder midengine in a scratchbuild frame and rollcage and, and, and...the easier way should be the 356. the rims i will use classic 911 ...widen the original is also a nice idea...

Here is my entry: it will get a drivetrain from a Porsche (think about a rollcage and a midengine), classic wheels from the same donor. dont want to touch the body more than it must be. Sleeper, you know So, buddies - go ahead, watch your back and slower traffic keep right If i am "in time" with the bug, perhaps i will throw another one in. Perhaps a beretta or a stationwagon...we will see...
