  1. The closest I've seen is the 1/20 Lindberg Firehawk, but that would be too big for a 1/25 car.
  2. '77-78 is the exact same car, which I believe the kit he's using is the AMT '78 Trans Am.
  3. I ordered a SBC single 4bbl carb setup (intake manifold, Holley 4bbl carb, thermostat housing, and distributor) from TDR Innovations last week and it finally arrived! I bought it to install it on the 302 engine from the 1/12 '69 Camaro Z28 kit. I did a dry mock-up of how it will install, and it's actually pretty close! I'll have to modify the base of the engine assembly where the manifold will rest to make the manifold sit flush with the engine, but in the end I think it will work out! Oh yeah, and Shapeways company did a fantastic job with making this part, as did TDR in designing it! Very detailed indeed. Just some lines from the process of shaping the part that I have to sand out, but other than that, I'm very happy with it!
  4. Thanks guys! Yeah, this kit has put up a huge fight, but I am confident that the worst is behind me *knock on wood*. Charlie, I'm really not sure what they are, but here's a pic just to show you some of them: I finished up the exhaust tonight and installed it (except for the exhaust tip, I'll have to get some epoxy or something for the metal tip). Looks pretty good if I do say so myself. I worked on the radiator a little tonight, and I tried to paint one of the fender flare trim pieces, but it's a lot harder than I anticipated. If anyone knows a really good way on how to mask those off, please let me know. They are being a PITA! Slowly but surely it will be done and before you know it, will be posted in the "Under Glass" section...finally. LoL but until then, thanks for watching the build and for all the wonderful comments!
  5. Nice! Looking forward to progress!
  6. This is a few pictures I snapped for the Trading ad I posted awhile ago: I was going to build a replica of my old '83 Daytona 500 T/A pace car, but when I sold the car, I lost interest in the build, so now it's sitting.
  7. Hurry the hell up David...the suspense is killing me!
  8. Paint job is absolutely PERFECT! Great job! I have one I am wanting to build as well. This makes me eager!
  9. David, this build is great! Looks so life-like! You are one of very few that can take a 1/24-25 scale car and make it look real! It makes me want to build my 1/16 kit, but I lost interest in it. Maybe if someone doesn't want to trade anything for it or if I can't sell it, I'll build it in the far future. I have too many builds I want to do before I even consider that one. These 3 cars are all 1/24-25 right?
  10. Yesterday I did a little work on this yesterday, gluing the engine in the frame and a little engine bay/firewall detailing by referencing some 1:1 pictures, so if you have ever owned one of these cars, you'll recognize the green connectors I replicated. I might tinker with it a little tonight...maybe get the exhaust painted/installed.
  11. I'm awaiting my trade for this kit so I can build it...I love the GSX! My favorite GM muscle car of the 70's! Yours looks fantastic! The first picture almost looks real!
  12. Well I polished the bare Tamiya paint and it came out pretty decent. Not like glass, but these cars never had "like glass" paint from the beginning, so I'm fine with it. It looks like a factory-sprayed single stage paint job. I also masked the body off to spray the side window trim, and tomorrow I'll do the windshield trim and possibly the fender flare mouldings. After polishing: After sprayed the side window trim and unmasked the body: Not sure if I like the complete flat black on the window trim...I kinda wanted a semi-gloss. I guess I could brush on some semi-gloss clear, but I might just leave it be. I'm finally happy with the paint job and really don't want to screw it up for a 4th time! LoL
  13. It's finally in paint! Not sure how well Tamiya metallic paint polishes out, but I'm going to try it so I don't have to shoot clear on it.
  14. Primer is on and awaiting paint...after it's sat for a few hours in the dehydrator. I friggin love that thing! It's the best $35 I've spent on any modeling equipment! I'm also in love with Tamiya primer, as it covers really well, but not too much where it wipes out the details.
  15. Today I decided to try to paint the friggin body for the 3rd time, this time using Tamiya primer and paint. I just shot the first coat of primer after letting it sit in warm water for a minute. I'll go shoot another coat of primer in a lil bit. I'm kinda excited to see how the Tamiya paint lays out...I've heard nothing but good stuff about it!
  16. Since I'm building an '85 GN as well, I'd be up for a set depending on how much they will be. Awaiting a price
  17. Wow, this makes me eager to get my 1/12 single car SBC manifold/carb setup from you guys! Looks great!
  18. I have similar plans for mine, but not "slammed"...it's going to be more like a pro-touring stance. Yours looks pretty sweet!
  19. Dang, I'm gonna have to pick me up one of those Celica kits for the wheels too...then maybe build the Celica as a drift machine or something. Skyline's looking good so far!
  20. Very nicely-executed '68 my friend! Beautiful paint!
  21. You know what? I think this kit has sat in the closet long enough...I'm reviving this tomorrow and am determined to finish it within the next month! I bought some Tamiya primer and paint to use this time...not sure what I'm going to use for clear, but I might have to run to the paint store and buy a can of U-POL's #1 Clear. That stuff is amazing! I might have some Tamiya clear though too...I gotta look.
  22. I bought a few things online today....I bought a set of Aoshima Werfen GT-03 20" wheels for the Fast and the Furious Supra kit (they are much closer in size than the included Racing Hart M5's that are under-sized for the kit) I also bought a 1/12 single carb setup from TDR Innovations for my 1/12 '69 Camaro. I also ordered a Tamiya Skyline 2000GT-R Hard top kit from the LHS as well!
  23. What actually sparked my interest in the 5.9 12V is that I had a vision of my perfect 1:1 truck...a 1977-78 Dodge stepside painted hot rod (satin) black with flat gunmetal striping, bumpers, grille, side stacks (everything that would otherwise be chrome), lowered, 17" 5-slot wheels with the face painted black and the lips painted flat gunmetal, black leather interior with Viper racing buckets, and a 5.9 12V Cummins diesel with a 5-speed manual trans...calling it the "Lil Black Nightmare". Now tell me that wouldn't be a bad-ass truck! So that was my plan in building the AMT/Ertl '78 Lil Red Express truck to what my vision is and see how it pans out.
  24. Looking for a 1/25 scale Cummins 12V engine that was used in the early 90's Dodge pickups. Looks like this: Does anyone make a resin engine of this or anything similar? I have a project I need one for. Thanks!

    Supra

I want one of these Supras so bad (1:1 scale)...and this build doesn't help at all! Paint looks very nice. Keep it up!
