  1. I would like to build the 2Fast2Furious "prelude" R34 Skyline GT-R (silver Skyline with no blue graphics or big wing). I thought about building it pre-silver when it was that faded green color when he first bought it, but nah...the silver looks too clean.
  2. Enzo Ferrari? When was there one of those in the movies?
  3. I don't know why they wouldn't...they have all of the other new release kits that come out. I hope they do. It would be nice to pay $16 per kit instead of $25, but I'll pay the more expensive price if I have to. I cant believe there are none of these kits being built in the "on the workbench" section...
  4. Dangit...I wish Hobby Lobby would get these in! It's killing me that it's taking so long for all the model-carrying stores in Duluth don't have them stocked yet!
  5. I just bought the "Foose" '67 Charger and I think there are some parts from the kit that will end up on my '70 Cuda...like the wheels/tires and interior pieces. Pro-touring FTW! I'm just gonna have to find a way to make the rear wheels a bit more "dished" since they are all the same depth and with skinny-ass tires.
  6. I bet if you contact Revell they would send you a new chrome tree. Their customer service is EXTREMELY good. Now I wonder if they'll have the brains to continue the 'Cudas great re-mold with a re-molded Challenger to match? That would be most excellent!
  7. I am super excited to get one or two of these kits! I really do hope that the aftermarket takes hold on this kit for the AAR parts...I've got a few 340 six packs from the AMT/ERTL '71 Duster that would look gorgeous in the 'Cudas engine bay! I think the first one I build will have a 6.1 Hemi from a Revell SRT car (yeah, I know...they are 1/24, but it will work) and make a pro-touring car.
  8. Are you casting a 6BT out of the early 90's pickups? If so, I'm interested!
  9. That looks flawless buddy! Top notch build as usual! Now I wish I would have kept this kit and not traded it off...great work! Oh yeah...I'm with everyone else. The paint color chosen is much better than the factory color!
  10. Hey, sorry guys...I've been busy with doing some interior work for a buddy of mine for a side job, plus working on my 1/1 truck, so no progress on this until my life settles down a bit. I still have plans for building this. I might look for another Slant Six too...not a fan of working with resin. Not saying the Gibson engine is BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, because its not...just like working with styrene better.
  11. Well I figured i'd bump this topic with my new collection than that one a few posts above...its gotten quite larger with some rare and desirable kits.
  12. Yeah I assembled the block, head and valve cover since they're all gonna be the same color (blue with lots of black wash). It assembled well and removing the flash wasnt a big deal at all. The valve cover-to-head fit was a little off, but you'll never notice it. I'm hoping to atart on the rest of the engine and start on the interior soon. I think tomorrow evening i'll go over the interior tub with a toothbrush and toothpaste to remove the remaining bit of paint.
  13. Awesome! Thanks for the picture! Looks like the original color of my 1/1 truck! So I got the slant six Gibson engine and the bench seat interior tub today, so I will be starting this very soon. Right now the interior tub is getting stripped with Dawn Power Dissolver.and will fill in the pattern of the seats so they are smooth, then add the welt cord in the appropriate spot and start painting. I've never worked with resin before, so the engine might throw me some curve balls...I know the assembly is usually used with super glue, correct? I also picked up some paints at Hobbytown that were close to what the trucks colors are. Anyways, here's what I have so far: Stripping the interior tub The Gibson slant six ready to be worked on The exterior paint, Tamiya Metallic Green...it's actually pretty close to the actual color! The interior color(s)...gotta mix these two colors to get the right shade of "jade green", then use the gloss or flat clear in the appropriate spots.
  14. Thanks for the tip! The truck has a bit of a rake to it, so it actually might look about right. LoL we'll see what happens. I'm also going to build another one that will be lowered and have an awesome paint scheme...to what I eventually want my 1/1 truck to look like
  15. Got an original 1979 release of the Dodge Lil Red Express kit from MPC in the original plastic seal! I have an original Warlock kit in original plastic seal coming soon as well!
  16. Thanks guys! The slant six shipped today, so once that and the Lil Red Express parts kit gets here, I can start on it. Can't wait!
  17. Hey everybody, I am here to build a replica of my new truck I just bought a week ago. It's a 1977 Dodge D-100 with a stepside, slant six and 3 on the tree. It's got very minimal rust on the body and needs a little patch work on the floors, but it's not bad. It runs and drives wonderfully! I now can start building my AMT/ERTL 1978 Dodge Lil Red Express to replicate my truck, and I just bought another kit on eBay to replicate what I want it to look like when I'm finished...then I can look at it and that will be my drive to build it in 1/1 scale as well! First off, here's the actual truck: Here's the kit I'll be building to replicate it (just bought some parts for it online, including an interior bucket with a bench seat!) And the engine I ordered online: I hope to be starting the project soon. I also ordered some police wheels from a Revell '70 Road Runner kit too. Stay tuned folks!
  18. ^Agree, not a whole lot of Fieros on the board...but I have 3 Fiero kits so far (notchback 2M4, notchback GT like this one, and a fastback GT) and I plan on building at least one. This one is awesome with a V8 stuffed in the bay! Very nice work sir!
  19. OUCH! That sucks dude...I paid $75 for mine. Bummer...
  20. I basically finished the interior minus the steering wheel. I won't bother flocking the interior because everything is so tight, you can't even see the floor. LoL! Anyways, I had the "start" button decal on the dash, and I had a hair on the dash so I blew on it and the decal went flying somewhere, so I just painted the piece red...screw it. I used the Viper's gauges and they look awesome, but I need to dab some clear coat or Future floor polish in there to make it look like there's behind a lens. The seats were really boring, so I mixed a very little amount of flat gray to flat black to make the color for the inserts and it looks MUCH better! I still have to finish up the shifter (going to make a custom one), then the interior will be complete. I was kicking around the idea of harnesses out of the Viper's ACR inserts, but not sure if I wanna go that far.
  21. Been working on the interior for a few hours now... Being that the entire interior will be black, it will hide a lot of the imperfections of the center console and such. Really, the only color in the interior will be the silver door handles, the aluminum shifter rod and knob, the "start" button on the dash, the gauges, and a red stripe on the top of the steering wheel. That's it. Maybe a few little details in the radio area and such, but that's about it. I looked at the real ACR Viper interiors, and that's how they are...very dark. There is really no good way to simulate suede, otherwise I would do the suede inserts in the seats like the ACR Vipers have, but nope. I might paint it flat black to give it a more dull finish than the rest of the seat. I also botched the intake...I was told that if I use Duplicolor Chrome, I was to prime and paint the part in high-gloss black, then spray it with the chrome...well, the chrome wrinkled on me, so I'm just going to strip it and paint the intake flat black, or maybe flat aluminum like the engine block and intake manifold are. We'll see. Hope to have more updates soon!
  22. Today will be a good day for the build...I plan to get a lot done, including hopefully the interior! I started on the intake again by priming and painting it gloss black...then when that cures, I'll spray with Duplicolor "Chrome" for a polished aluminum look. Should look pretty good when done. I'm going garage saling soon, so maybe I'll pick up a few new kits? Doubtful, but maybe...
