I polished up the cab and box a little...everything but the roof, since it's pretty orange peel-y and dull on the real truck. I also made my own axles with styrene and glued them in place to replace the metal axles that were included in the kit, as well as modified the suspension to get a more proportionate stance as the actual 1:1 truck.

I'm REEEEALLY hoping they FINALLY come out with this long-anticipated G-body kit! I have multiple GN kits and a Monte SS kit. Maybe (wishful thinking) they will make a Grand Prix as well when they see how great of a seller the Cutlass is!

Thanks guys! Today I decided to see what I had for spare interior parts and found a set of buckets from an AMT Chrysler 300C and a complete center console from a Lindberg Dodge Charger. Now I'm always up for getting different opinions, so if y'all wanna help me, let me know your thoughts. Stock bench: Custom buckets/console: -

Just a small update: I modified the frame to fit the engine's oil pan, applied the other Chrysler decal on the valve cover and temporarily installed the valve covers on the engine using Elmer's rubber cement (awesome stuff by the way!). I've been dog-sitting the last few days so I havent been home to work on this much lately. -

Got a few updates...I applied one decal to one of the valve covers (the kit came with one decal, I have another decal sheet on the way), I painted and assembled a bit of the engine, and found out the k-member is in the way of the oil pan so i'll have to modify it. -
And what kit will these resin parts work with? I am totally goimg to get in line to get these!

Alright, I picked out the colors I'm going to paint this car...Duplicolor's Toyota dark green mica and Krylon's Brushed Nickel. Most of the engine (besides the transmission, heads and water pump area, which are all aluminum) will be the Brushed Nickel, which is a satin finish, and the "valve covers" will be the dark green mica with a custom touch. And yes, the engine bay will be detailed with a bit of wiring and will be nice and smooth under the hood. The car itself will be green and the roof will be the brushed nickel and will keep it the satin finish. The faces of the wheels will also be the brushed nickel paint. Right now I have a spare hood from a Callaway Corvette that I'm painting with the green so I can see the true color of it. -
I was gonna tell you about the tires but someone beat me to it. Paint work is looking superb!

You sir are a perfectionist...and I applaud you for that! I think I need to pick up some BMF today at the hobby store...try my hand at it. You have given me inspiration. -

Well picking out the colors was a bust...I couldn't find anywhere with a decent variety of colors of Krylon (I refuse to use Rustoleum) so I might have to look on their website and see if I can order something. And thanks for the tip Richard. I saw you did that with your car. I will have to figure something out because I am not a fan of skinny tires. -

Thanks all! Yeah, I didn't think about doing a test-fit with the firewall. I guess when I go out to get some styrene tubing for my axles on my other build, I'll have to get some white glue for dry-fitting the firewall and see where it ends up. I'm also trying to choose colors for the car. Right now I'm kinda stuck on a medium teal metallic, champagne and gunmetal for a color combo...but I don't know. When I go to Hobby Lobby I can look at all the paints they have there and see. I definitely want the engine parts to be a flat or matte finish. Hmmm...I guess we'll see what I come across. More updates will most likely come up later today! -

This is an excellent restoration of a great car! I'm hoping to get a gluebomb of a Challenger T/A or AAR Cuda here sometime soon. -

Wow that looks great so far! I had a similar idea but using the 5.4 supercharged V8 from the Ford Lightning. The bodywork looks awesome! -

Hey all! It's been awhile since I started a new kit (waiting to get some styrene tubing for my axles on my '77 Dodge D100 replica build). I picked up this gem of a 1956 Chrysler 300B from the LHS a few weeks ago. I planned to make a replica of Rad Ride's car, but I'd like to do my own version of it, so I'm going to stuff a 6.1 HEMI in it from a Revell Dodge Magnum SRT8 kit, do some custom interior touches to modernize it, and add some Pegasus chrome Hella wheels (painting the face of the wheels to lower the "bling" factor). So far I tore open the kit (VERY nicely detailed I might add) and toyed with the parts. Then I glued some of the HEMI together so I could test-fit it and looks like it will be a very easy engine to add, though I am going to have to remove some of the top of the transmission as it hits the transmission tunnel. This will be a slow-going build since I'll be working on it while the other kit is on stand-by. Hope you enjoy!

Any news on the castings of the conversion parts? I have a friend that bought a '72 Barracuda last year at Mopars in the Park in Farmington, MN and it's her dream car. I want to build a replica of it for her.

I recently went to one of the LHS and in the display case, I saw a Moebus Models 1956 Chrysler 300B kit. I remembered that Rad Rides by Troy built one of these and was a work of art! Had a twin turbo'd big block and a lot of custom touches. Here's the kit I bought: This is the car I want to build: I dont know if I want to build an exact replica or build it to something similar but with my own little twists...i'll have a bit of time to think. What are your thoughts?
