  1. I too do the same thing, although I also utilize Dave's (MCW) paint reference guide. I've never had a bad paint application using MCW in over 9 years . Fury3, AKA Dave
  2. I like it Darcy. Don't see too many of these posted anywhere. I have both unbuilt 75 and 77 versions of these. What kind of problems am I going to experience building them? Care to elaborate? You can never tell about AMT kits during this time period. Fury3
  3. Impressive modifications and details given to a not to steller of a kit. I've never seen anyone perform the proper modifications necessary (as you have done) to make this kit presentable...especially the rear bumper/tail lamps mods. Take a well deserved bow, my friend! Fury3
  4. The "flat Black" trim was not an option on any of the 1971 Barracuda's...such an option did not exist. The drip rails, windshield and rear window reveal moldings were on all Barracuda models. The only exception to this involved the rear window reveal molding on vehicles ordered with the rear window backlight louver package (code A67). This option was available on all Barracuda models (Base Barracuda, Gran Coupe, and 'cuda). It included a Black vinyl roof covering, Black painted rear window reveal moldings (only the rear window moldings were painted Black...the drip rail and windshield moldings remained bright). Dual outside sport mirrors were also part of the package, as your build correctly has. Just add the bright moldings as I've mentioned, and you will have (IMO) one of the finest builds of this kit I've seen. Simply beautiful! Source: 1971 Plymouth Salesman's Pocket Price List and the 1971 Plymouth Data Book. Hope this helps? Fury3
  5. Refreshing to see this kit built factory stock. Interesting color sheme and quite attractive. Miss the trash can though, LOL! Fury3
  6. Now that's just plain sharp! Must have missed seeing this when you orginally posted it. Fury3
  7. Darcy, guess I'm not as well known any more (or needed). Haven't posted on the "other forum" since the infamous July 2012 update. The Chrysler Division should have offered a wider exterior color selection on the C-300, as your build proves. I suppose they were trying to keep the vehicle "exclusive" with the limited color selections. Maybe it made sense in 1955 (?). Not to me. I can appreciate you unique outside trash container posing. The outside lighting makes for a big improvement compared to the indoor lighting. I'm positive that Virgil Exner would approve of your presentation! Fury3
  8. It's good to see an uncommon "flat box" Jo-Han kit built as nicely as you have done. These cars were unappreciated in model kit and 1.1 scale form. Again, it good to see you and your builds on this forum. Do you have any photos of the excellent detailing that you gave the interior to share with us? Fury3
  9. Great to see you here Darcy. I think you will be happy with the members and administration here. Love the color scheme you've applied to your Hudson. A beautiful model with outstanding attention to the details. Hoping to see many more posts from you in the future...along with your builds and unique writing style. Fury3
  10. Outstanding attention to detail, Art. I'm very impressed with how you are correctly applying the different color hues to the interior....and so sharp! Fury3
  11. Again Randy, your detailing talents are very apparent. I'm enjoying this WIP! Fury3
  12. Impressive, to say the least! It's great to see something from your bench after all of these years. Now that you've started up, please keep building and posting your projects. Fury3
  13. Scored 100% in less than 4 minutes. Yes, being 56 years old does help, LOL. Fury3
  14. Beautiful Build, Randy. It's nice to know this kit is of top quality....without accuracy or curb riding height issues. A road not traveled often by Revell in the last few years. Guess they have been listening. Fury3
  15. Love to see any Jo-Han kit restored properly. That MCW Paint and hue really adds to the authentic look. Bravo! Fury3
  16. Beautiful build (which I've come to expect from you, my friend LOL). You are right about the quality of this kit. IMHO, it is one of Revell's best. They got it all right with this one. The details are correct, everything fits properly, the tooling/molds are clean and crisp. It's actually my favorite kit (not car though, but I DO appreciate the 1st generation Charger's). Take a well deserved "bow", Randy! Fury3
  17. I just got through carrying on an e-mail conversation with him about a resin/paint order five minutes ago. His e-mail is working properly. Fury3
  18. I too agree with all of the positive comments about Kenny/Bandit Resins. I've been purchasing kits and parts from him for years. Quality has always been excellent. The orders have been processed and received in a timely manner. He's one of the "good guys" to deal with in our hobby. Fury3
  19. Simply stunning, Randy! Really like the color too. Fury3
  20. Randy, welcome to the forum. It's great to see you here and I'm sure that many of the members familiar with your work on the "other" forum will be looking forward to your comments and topic/posts. Your Chrysler C-300 looks fabulous! In fact, one of the finest builds I've seen. Fury3
  21. I've been stashing paint for years...since 2004 to be exact. About 95% of the paint I spray my kits with is from "Model Car World" (AKA "MCW"). When i purchase a kit (resin or styrene) I always pick out the color scheme for the kit and order the paint at that time. Since I have well over 500 kits, it stands to reason that I have that amount of exterior paint on hand PLUS the MCW Semi Gloss interior colors. The first "MCW" air brush paint I purchased was for a 1961 Plymouth Fury, factory paint code SS1 (MCW code 6150) and it's still as fresh as it was in 2004. A lot of that has to do with the excellent jars/lids MCW uses. I've also purchased many of his aerosol cans and they seem to hold up just as well. I must use model paint (Testors Model Masters/Tamiya brush ) for detail painting and such. It's a shame that I can't say the same about those paints longevity. In fact, I've never gotten more that 6 months life out of Model Masters "Stop Lamp Red" or "Turn Signal Amber"...no matter how I try to insure the jars are properly sealed. BTW...all of these paints are stored in a controlled temp home environment of 67 degrees to 73 degrees. Fury3
  22. Now that is just plain sharp. Nice to see a clean factory stock build. Fury3

  24. Yes, this kit is one of the better offerings that "AMT/Ertl" released, prior to RC2's influence . It is fairly accurate to the 1.1 vehicles, but does suffer a easily correctable condition involving the front wheels positioning in the wheel wells. Another minor accuracy issue that very few have ever noticed or mentioned....the cloth & vinyl split back bench seat with center armrest included in the kit was NOT available on the Charger R/T...only on the Charger 500 model. (The S.E. model had a similar seat, but with it's own exclusive upholstery and door trim panel design. (Reference: factory "1971 Dodge Color and Trim Selector".) Glad to see this one back. Fury3
  25. Knowing that all of this is mostly wishful thinking, here are a few of the cars in my past I'd like to see produced in 1/25th scale. 1967-68 Plymouth Valiant, 1969-70 Dodge Polara, 1969-1971 Chrysler New Yorker, 1968 & 69 Plymouth Satellite, 1954 Ford. A few cars that were not in my past but wish that were produced: 1968 Plymouth GTX (The only GTX never produced in in minerature!) 1978-86 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and/or 442/1983-4 Hurst, 1970-71 Plymouth Sport Fury GT, 1975-1977 Chrysler Cordoba, 1976-1980 Dodge Aspen R/T, 1978-79 Dodge Magnum,1980-83 Dodge Mirada, 1987-1995 Chrysler LeBaron (J-Body) Convertible, 2010-current Dodge Ram Pick-up (Oh, that's right....it's no longer considered or supposed to be called a Dodge. A Fiat, maybe? ) Fury3
