THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU! I DO appericiate ALL you guys efforts, I HOPE you ALL know that by now! My problem is I'm a HANDS ON type of learner. Joy's the only one around who I know KNOWS this stuff. She HAS tried BUT like she an Bill point out,PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT! I DON'T want to flood ANYBODYS E-Mail with my practicing. I Couldn't fire a rifle until I was shown by my instructor HOW to handle my weapon properly. I ended up being a sharpshooter when I was done, so, I CAN learn, I just need that individual type of instruction. I'll get the hang of it with some help from Joy! I REALLY appericiate ALL that you guys have done for me, ESPECIALLY YOU Clay! You guys are the kindsa freinds who come thru for me, no matter HOW badly I screw up! THANKS for bein there for me!!!

Just saw this thread. I use Ambroid almost EXCLUSIVELY. Tenax evaporates TOO fast, Testors Black bottle glue is too slow, BUT Ambroid is JUST RIGHT! (Sounds kinda like Goldilocks Don't it??!!)

Guy's SHE'S a GIRL!!! An a young one at that! WHY do you guys keep tellin her to use stuff that WILL HURT HER!!!!! Emily, Simple Green is a NON caustic household cleaner that can be bought at any home improvement store, or even K-Mart, Walmart or any other Mart! Just make sure it's Simple Green, NOT a generic version. I've seen it for 8 bucks a gallon. Maybe you can get it on sale for even cheaper. You can stick your hands right in it, and it WON'T eat your skin! Those others will cause it to dry out REALLY bad, IF they DON'T actually start to make it peel an burn. SG takes a few days to work, depending on the paint, BUT it DOES work! The ONLY thing I've EVER found that it won't strip is some flat black paints, and the stuff Revell used to paint their Low Rider kits. EVEN CSC, the Purple pond stuff, WON'T faze THAT paint! I just want you to READ the ingredients an BE CAREFUL on what you use. CSC is NASTY STUFF!!! I WON"T use it no matter what ANYONE says! The best, SAFEST stuff I've found is Simple Green. AND it WORKS! May take a little longer, but as I said, it's ALOT safer!!!

I just picked up ANOTHER 69 Nova last night at Micheals with the 40% off coupon, it listed at 19.99, an I got it for around 12 bucks(I threw the recipt away) To ME that's reasonable. The Black Widow was at 24.95!!! And I asked the little girl at the register, an she said they DO accept Hobby Lobby,and JoAnn's Fabric's store coupons, so I'll be usein them alot more!. I got enough kits to last me the rest of my life,So even if they do price them out of site,I'll be set. Em,(that's what I call my Granddaughter) Get some Simple Green from K-Mart an soak the body in it, It'll take a few days to strip, BUT it's MUCH SAFER that Purple Power, or brake fluid.AND it WON'T EAT YOUR SKIN! Those other solvents WILL hurt you. When it's done stripping, wash the residue of with water an jus try it again! Just be patient, It'll come to you.

Welcome Pat! It's GREAT that you build with your son. We got another Father/ son team here too, an the Dad is even bringin his younger son into the fold! Oh, an WELCOME, Mitch, to the BEST model car forum ON THE PLANET!!!!!

Mitch, pull that RASCAL OUT of the trash an throw it in some simple green to strip it! NEVER throw madels or parts away, THAT'S how you build your stash! Unless your REALLY good with an airbrush, start with spray cans, it's ALOT easier an faster. You REALLY should wash your body and remove any molding seems before you paint. Always use a primer, it helps the paint stick, AND it shows up flaws that you may need to fix before you add color coats. Warm the cans under some warmer water to bring it's paint temp up, that;ll make it spray, and set on the body better. Start with light missed coats, maybe 3/4 light ones, just to set up the color for your final color coats. Hold the can about 8/12 inches away, depending on if you want wet coats or semi wet, an make whole passes at it, starting the spray BEFORE you get to the model, and go easy but not too slow or you'll run the paint, an finish AFTER you pass the model/ NEVER START on the model itself or your sure to get a run in it! These are just starter tips, the guys can give you better ones that'll REALLY help ya. But this should get ya rollin. NEVER loose faith in yourself, an take your time,caz it's all a learning expirience. Stick with it Bro, you'll get better!

Ron, the old Monogram 69 Camaro(the beige one) hag a twin turbo set up, an that's where I got my first set, but even in 24th scale they look too small. The Parts Box, down in OZ makes a coupla different sizes, but if I'm gonna order them, I'd probly go with the ones from Rep.& Miniatures from Norm Vebber. The postage alone would be worth it, plus I've gotten stuff from him before,an his work is impecable!!!
