NICE build Chris. In high school, my good friend,Gary Knipe had THIS SAME CAR!!! As usaul, he only had it a few days when he put some Ansen Sprints on it, made it look even tougher! His was a 340 that could kick a$$ on 383 RoadRunners!!! You did a GREAT job on it Daddy-O, it looks REAL good! I hope Gary sees it!

I have wheel trouble
george 53 replied to Greg Cullinan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Welp, guess I'm the ONLY odd-ball here, caz ALL my wheels roll! It's like was already said, it's kinda hard to pin down, caz alot of Manf. DON'T mount their wheels the same way. Personally, I'm SO old school that I STILL like metal axles! I think it'll depend on what method your model uses. Tamiya kits have a pretty good system, with little poly caps that hold the wheels on, an most American Manf. seem to try to use the most confusing methods they can come up with! One reason I still like metal axles! But, that's jus me. (or is it?) -
Naw Juerg, we don't like it, we LOVE it!!!! She came out lookin pretty tough! Love them slicks all tucked up in them wheelwells like that!!! The color combo is PERFECT for that body style! Looks like ANOTHER home run,Daddy-O!
-

Ya know Capt'n, now that I look at that there "finger thingie" mebbe you could drop a Hemi on that thing an jus make you a "playmate" for da Skwerrlmiester. Or not. Anyway, I's glad ta sees him back on the ol bench!
-
Mike, BE GENTLE!!!! Have you EVER woken up a BEAR before? It took me YEARS to be able to wake up WITHOUT reaching for my weapon! Theresa USED ta wake me VERY gently, Now she jus gets outta bed, an I wake up when I feel her gettin outta the bed.(I'm still a light sleeper). Here, let me show ya how it's done. PSSSSSTTTTT, Harry, you up? HAAAARRRRRYYYYYYYY, rise an shine ol man, we's wastein daylight here kiddo! You KNOW what day it is, so you SHOULD be used to us so far. So WAKE UP THERE BOY!!!!!!!! I trust you slept well. Throw in the "hope you slept well" thing, sounds like you care!

Thank You, Lyle. Now I know why I never saw the body before. You did a GREAT conversion on it!!!
-
Is the body from the Lindburg 32 pickup kit? I don't think I've ever seen that body. It does look good.
-
Lyle, I guess I'm missin the joke, but what part of it is a Studie? The body? It does look different from the bottom of the cab, down by the framerails. Whatever you wanna call it, it came our GREAT, as usual.

Do you ever get the feeling?
george 53 replied to Custom Hearse's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Marsh, I've NEVER met ya, an I like you, why the bad feelins? I've NEVER seen any NEGATIVE response from anyone here, or seen anyone be rude to you, so why such discord? It was a GREAT thing you did to offer Gregg a help out, an he probly did appericiate it, but he IS a busy guy an who knows, maybe your offer jus kinda missed him. Don't take it so personal. If you REALLY wanna help, maybe like some guys said, you can volunteer to jus sit around at the next show he attends, an watch his stuff. I know I'll offer to do it when(IF) he comes to Toledo! If we all take turns helpin him out with some extra eyes, this kinda krap WON'T happen again!!! I personally don't blame him for beein pissed off, and I DO understand where he's commin from, But to lose HIM would be an even worse scenario! -

THANKS,Harry! I was wondrin about them. Our Micheals only has about 10 feet of models, cars, planes an stuff. It should be kinda nice to have a choice of where to shop. I DO shop at model-roundup alot, but thats mostly cazza Jack. He's a pretty cool guy, an he HAS given me VERY good deals on shipping before, so outta loyalty an appericiation I tend to shop there alot, Plus, he's got some NICE resins available too! -
Oh Yeah, thassa nice one, awrite! BEAUTIFUL color, I REALLY likes it! Your right,it does sit a little high, but thats ok, caz it DO look GOOD!!!! NICE JOB!!!

Another Casualty Of The Economy
george 53 replied to 93Z34's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Our LHS is a Riders shop, it's a chain around here thats been around for quite a while. There IS a Hobby Lobby opening up about a mile away from them, an I was wonderin, what are they like? Do they cater to Model car builders, or are they just R/C junk? I've noticed alot of indy hobby shops seem to go for R/C stuff, but not alot of plastic kits. Is Hobby Lobby a good place to shop? I've never been to one,so ANY advice would be appericiated. -
Welcome,Jeffery Jones, to THE BEST website in modelcardom!!!! Don't worry bout anyone goin medieval on ya cept Harry, caz he's ol enuff ta member them days!!! Jus pull up a chair, pop a cold one,an join in the fun! You'll like it here!

george 53 replied to customcreator's topic in WIP: Dioramas
Jaime, yep this IS the Dio section, so you ARE in the right place. Could I suggest jus throwin an ol car tire in it somewhere's jus ta make it relevant? This IS a model CAR site, an a tire layin around would tie it all in! Other than that, it looks pretty cool! -
Great answer Harry. Yeah, I would think ,being a magnetic paint, it WOULD have magnetic qualities. BUT i don't think iron in the paint would help it oxodize. I mean, isn'tthat wat paint is for? To prevent oxidation? Your best bet Phil, is like already been said, jus get you a good weathering kit. Check out "Crancky's" article on how to weather in the Feb issue, he's got ALOT of GREAT info on weathering! Oh, and WELCOME to the BEST model car website on the PLANET!!!
