    '68 GTO

Actually, that's a 69 rear bumper on it. It also only comes with a 69 Dash. Both the rear bumper AND dashboard were changed from 68, and are year specific. Still a good lookin model though!
  2. Hahhhh, I got TOO MANY works in progress! That's PROBABLY WHY i never FINISH anythng!!!!
  3. It came out beautifully! i THINK that "Cheese Cast" resins were the only ones that I ever knew to cast one. Too bad I din't get one, caz they sure look nice! Too bad they been gone for MANY years! Yous is VERY very nice! I used to drive one for the hospital I worked at!
  4. Rod, you know that boy ain right! He gonna turn it into a weirded out hot rod! It coulda dun worse!!!
  5. I've seen them go for 12 bucks(about a year ago) to around 50. The Revell Harley bike, that came in that series, I've seen goin for up to 75 bucks! Hth.
  6. Your MORE than welcomed Cuzz! I just wanted the guys to know the wait was worth it! Still gonna get a few more sets!
  7. GREAT IDEA, Thanks!!! I'll do that!!!!
  8. THANKS for the pic,Casey. They're ALMOST like that, the shou;der of the tread, where it meets the sidewall is a bit more rounded. They actually look like those Toyo Drag slicks. The tread pattern is also different than those Hoosiers show. The sidewalls are clean too, as with NO printing or label brand.
  9. It is a VERY nice kit, even if it is an old one! The pickup body is a bit fragile, as it has opening doors, and the Cab body has a separate roof and doors, but it's no problem to build, an it comes out nice with just a bit of patience. You'll like it.
  10. Guy's I just got two sets of Radial Drag slicks from muh Cuzzin Al, overt Ma's Resins. You guys already know I don't post pics, But those of you's that have dealt with me know I'm pretty straight up. Welp, pic's or no, these bad boys ARE NICE!!! They're pert near as close to perfect as you gonna find! Yep, i said it! The only flaw i found were some VERY small little what looked like little dents in one sidewall of the tire. I don't know if it's a result of the molding process or what, as they all have one. BUT that's the ONLY slightly negative thing I can say. The tread pattern is perfect, the countour or the tread face looks like the pictures in the car magazines, and other than those little dent's I mentioned, they have NO flaws. I just put them to the inside upper part of the wheelwell and they dissapear! Just one VERY small thing, but I feel you should know it. Like I said, I may be just cause i gotta first out the mold set. But if any of you guys have gotten anything from Ma's, you ALREADY knowe the quality is there. We talked thru PM and he told me he can only do like two sets per customer till he gets up to speed, but other than that, he's got some ready to go. They come in two sizes 325-50X15's and in a bit thinner(which I snapped onto a 69 Nove without any problems) 275-60X15. They come in left and right tread pattern, and they look like regular kits tires! They fit on the old MPC,AMT type wheelback (The ones that use metal axles) and I tried them on 3 newer Revell 25th scale kis (The ones that snap onto the axles)And the seem to fit just a hair loose on Lindburghs newer kits(SS-396,Olds 442 kits) Those kits were what were close when I opened the bag, but i'm thinkin they'll fit without any problem on any 24/25th scale kit. You guys that know me know me,And Im DEFINATELY gonna order more of these bad boys, but since I already have a set, I'll let you guys get some too(it's ALL good!) He said he's ready to ship with only that stipulation for now, ONLY two sets per order for NOW. He doesn't want to get too overwhelmed again, an when you SEE these rascals in your hand, you ll KNOW wat I'm talkin about!!! Check em out guys, they're NICE!!!!!
  11. The bell ringer? I thought it was called 'The Hunchback" (of Notre Dame) It was an old Aroura kit, in their "monsters Of Hollywood' series, wasn't it?
  12. Oooo Drago, that's like compareing apples to oranges! BOTH are kinda rough on the INSIDE of the castings, but they both look GOOD on the outside. I've got alot of resin from BOTH, and for the price you can't beat JF. He only chargers 10 bucks for MOST of his bodies at the swapmeets, BUT you ONLY get a body. If R&R is a COMPLETE kit, THAT might be the way to go. I have quite a few R&R kits and they DO NOT just fall together. You MUST make an effort with his kits, but the results can be OUTSTANDING. If you go with either one, be prepared to do ALOT of inside cleaning up. as they BOTH leave QUITE a bit of resin on the inside. NOT hard to do, but messy and time consumeing. But they are about the same in extieior quality, which IS pretty good.
  13. Well, It's i Yipsi but it's close enough to you, it's called "The Model Cave" I believe, and it's on Michigan Ave near I-94. Been meaning to go down there, but I just haven't yet. Reports from the guys in my model club say it's pretty nice, reasonably priced an they have a nice collection of oop kits, includeing JoHan and old MPC kits. HTH.
  14. PERFECT color for that car!! You did a GREAT job on it!!!!!
  15. Well to be honest with ya, I'd say it WAS a fake! Those are SHEETMETAL screws holding down the vin plate. NOT the proper VIN rivets, so other than it being a VERY pretty car, it coulda been ANY ol 70 Charger model. But it sure is pretty!!!
  16. EXACTLY MY feelings too Danny. AS my first car I built the AMT 70 Nova kit and was quite happy with it, But the rear panel on the new 69 Nova is a REAL shock. I mean it's SOOOOO obviousa styling feature and they LEFT IT OUT!! Who was sleepin at the wheel to let this mistake get by? Yes you CAN remove the tailight panel by grinding it from BEHIND, at the top of the bumper. Get it as thin as you can, then turn it over and scribe from the front to separate the panel from the bumper. IF your careful, you can get a nive clean cut. Once you get it separated, you can use the BMF to cover over where you took it to bare plastic to remove it. IF you start with the COPO Nova, it HAS the seperate tailight panel AND rear bumper. Saves ALOT of sweat an effort! I was doin this to ALL my Revell Nova's till the COPO came out. Hope you get it down, caz I'd like to see your lil Nova!!!!
  17. I've NEVER heard of a Charger 500 R/T. It was either a 500, or an R/T but I've NEVER seen or even heard of one. It should have a tiny 500 on the trunklid too, but I don't see one there. Not sayin it's NOT real, but they must REALLY be rare cause I couldn't find a 500 R/T on google either.
  18. The Chevelle is a NICE kit! Just show him the basics of clean oob build. IF you try to show him how to build at YOUR level, he MAY become discouraged, caz it takes time to learn alot of the tricks. Keep him interested in building though, show him how to swap wheels an tires to personalize it as HIS model. Stay with it, and help him out, caz us OLDER farts are slowly leavein, and we NEED new blood to carry our hobby on.
  19. Ya had me till ya said "SunStar". I only build 25th (SOMETIMES 24th) scale ,so I hadn't seen a 65 Ford pickup in 25th/24th scale(other than Motor City Resin, which I have). 1/18th is too big for me but you sure PROVED you can make a REALLY KILLER model in 18th scale! I've got about 30 of those 18th scale Die Casts, and my Grandson can beat em up pretty well, so he'll get 'em!!! You built a GREAT lookin model!!!
  20. IF you start with the COPO Nova, it comes with a SEPARATE rear valance panel. Use a file stick to PUT THE PROPER SLANT into the rear quarter panel ends. Then, glue in some small sheet plastic peices to form a angled edge where the tailight panel can rest against it. If you do it right, you'll have removed more at the bottom than the top. Glue the tailight panel in and your good to go. I've done this on ALL the Revell Novas I've built. WHY couldn't the company have done this for us??? It's SO glareingly OBVIUOS, but NOBODY seems to care!!!! I HAD a 69 Nova as my first car, and this is something I noticed RIGHT from jump., So, I just fix it. It makes ALL the difference in the world! I'm surprised the the gentlemen who did that GREAT review on this kit didn't mention this GLAREING obvious mistake.
  21. Actually Fat Brian is RIGHT on the money. UNLESS they are causeing you pain, or otherwise inflicting some kind of trauma to your Jaw/mouth there's REALLY no need to pull them! Oh except to pay for the dentists wife's implants!!!!
  22. When Gary Schmitd sold SAE to Kalmback, I lost interest. It USED to be ALOT like the EARLY MCM, but as time passed, Kalmback cut Car Modeler out and focused on SAE. THEN they only had ONE magazine every other month. Not good. Now, if you DON'T subscribe to their rag you CAN'T get into their website to follow articles in the mag. Plus I KNOW Gregg, and He's got a MUCH NICER personality for a publisher. That other guy is too busy to even make small talk or show himself to be a NORMAL human being. He made a REALLY CRAPPY first impression on me, and it stuck!!!!
  23. SaaaaaaaaaLoooot!! You deserve it Mark, your a geniunely good person and good freind! God Bless you, crazy boy!!!
  24. Get a 61 ford Galaxie, and switch the roofs between them. It's NOt thay hard to do, an you'll get a Starliner sedan AND a Starliner two dr coupe! I've done it twice now.
