Not to contradict you, after all, it IS your model, but if that's a Rat Rod, it's the nicest one I've ever seen. There's NOTHING about it that could even be called "Ratty" it's much too well done! The paint especially. Very nice, but not REALLY a Rat Rod.
In my room till I was about 15. Then I got the whole basement to myself! We had a finished basement with a pool table, and I'd put a 4x8 sheet of plywood over it and I was in HEAVEN!!!! This lasted till I left for the service, and when I got home, my wife had us a two bedroom apt. ready, and she was cool with my models. Always has been.
Monica Sowers is the person I had to tell E-Bay about when I put my complaint in for not getting my 68 GTO body about 5 years ago. I've NEVER heard ANYTHING good about them, OTHER than they DO have good products. Such a shame, I won't ever deal with them again, caz I've LEARNED my lesson!
As I said before, this is too cool! What scale is it in? If it's 25th, theres a lotta detail! If it's 1/8th it's still cool, caz there's alotta detail in it too!
Scale Coachworks website: no longer active. Their Email is: scalecoachworks@wi.rr.com The Phone number is 1-414 570 0650 Hope this helps. (They make a KILLER 70 Dart Swinger too!)
Well then I guess that's a no go for me. Last time I dealt with AFX was over two tears ago. It took ALL of 9 months to get my 68 GTO body, and threats from E-bay to get it!! Won't EVER trust THEM again. Any OTHER sources for this body/ I'd REALLY like a post coupe 67/8/9 Dart!!!
VERY nice. ALL of Chryslers Styling depts were bustin some butt when it came to good lookin cars in the late 60's! This was my first choice a 68 Barracuda with a 383 automatic. My dad saw the engine an said, "Nope, motors TOO big!" I ended up gettin a 69 Nova SS 350(The motor was smaller!) You did a GREAT job on it. I kinda remember AMT's 1/32? 43? scale Barracuda looked something like this. I like it!
My brother in laws work van looks just like that, rust an all, only it says Anthos Home Improvement on it an it's Robin's Egg blue(a REALLY PALE blue!) GREAT job on this!!!
Jim,Jim,Jim, when you talk like this, you date us! The cars don't even exist any more, but we still remember the nicknames we gave 'em, hu? Hadn't heard that name in MANY a year now! Your Baccaruda came out real nice!
I have 6 66 Chevelles, they were my favorite cars as a kid(Till Chrysler bough out the 68 thru 70 B-Bodies!) Only have one built, but it has been one of my favorite kits since they released it.
the "Old Pro" Nova from AMT has a tunnel ram thats pretty adaptable. the old JoHan Sox an Martin Cuda has a real nice tunnel ram too. There's probably a few more too, Oh the 66 Nova has a nice one too, but these are all i can think of right off the bat.Hth.
From what I've heard, LMK does thier own plateing. I don't believe their dipped. Chrome Tech sends theirs OUT to be chromed, hence the once a month schedule. I've heard + and = about them both, so unless the SERVICE is better from one than the other, I'd say they're both about the same.
I'm from Deeeetroy, across the river from Pat in Canada! We ONLY use our guns to DEFEND the U.S. from them hooligans from CANADA! WE protect ALL your butts!
Danbury Mint has this one? I just bought one EXACTLY like the Red, new pick-up at our local flea market for only 5 bucks, with opening doors, hood and a straight six! Definately NOT Danbury,or Franklin mint quality, but a nice lookin model just the same! Your "Rustbucket" looks GREAT!
