  1. I used this last night. (as I ran out of flat black, again... ) I mixed 5 drops of Tamiya x-1 and planned on using 1 drop of flat base, but since it's a base its to thick to drip from a toothpick. So I scraped off a bit on my glass and swirled the two together. Worked like a charm. Only problem was the drying time, it dries kinda quick on the glass coaster I mixed it on and it was hard mixing the same ratio a second time. All and all, if used with caution, it's a really nice product.
  2. I got a suggestion about using Mr. Muscle oven cleaner (see picture below). Has anyone tried it? Is it even available for you guys on the other (wrong ) side of the Atlantic? Paint is revell enamels(?).
  3. That color looks dope in satin. Very custom-ish.
  4. It's oddly visually pleasing to see the dash opposite of the rest of the interior color wise. Fantastic build.
  5. Of course I remember! It was a true inspiration to me. I made the transition the other way, but I never got through scratchbuilding anything for the 1/10's except for some bodywork details. Great to see you again. And that Alfa looks killer.
  6. Hi guys! Just recently found this box in my old stash but the manual was missing. Anyone who is a great internet-digger or pro googler who can help a guy out? Or anyone who has the kit that can photograph the instructions and send to me? Thanks in advance. Here's the kit Since, you know, noone can build this devil of a kit anyways.
  7. Since I'll just build it in the style of the gasser it supposed to be, and I'm not too familiar with the gassers, I won't be sitting reading up on NHRA rules. Please, keep all these beautiful gasser-ish monsters coming!
  8. When I read about this project I thought it would be impossible or turn out like cr*p. Was I proven wrong or was I? This "thing" looks stunning. Everything fits so well. Perfectly executed.
  9. Wow, that color really pops!
  10. NOW I know who you are! Nice to see you again Mr. Pkasticbuddha! (the 4age seemed familiar )
  11. I found an old box with a vette Gasser while looking through my old stuff at moms place, "problem" is I'm not into the gassers. Alltho, I think it can be a fun build and it would be a shame if it never got built. Can't do that to the Lil fella. So motivate me with pictures of your gassers!
  12. Shouldn't be a problem since I shoot Tamiya TS, which is lacquer, right? The only paint I dare to use straight out of the rattle can. I'll check it out!
  13. I had no idea what type of compressor it is but..... It's beautiful! I want one just standing around in the house.
  14. You have made me, a Olds Cutlass-"hater", see the beauty in the car. That takes much my friend. It's... beautiful. Simply amazing. Wow.
  15. So odd, I can find multiple sources for Testors Dullcote but no Wet Look. I can also get a hold of many other Testors products. Still cant find much, googling "future" and/or "Kleer" doesn't give me much. Can anyone show me the product? What is it used for by non-modelbuilders? Thanks for all the help so far.
  16. Thanks for all the input. (amazing commitment on helping people out here, cudos) Now that you say it can be done, I think I'll put whatever decal I can spare on something and test a couple of mists. The decals are fairly new-produced Cartograf's so I hope the quality is good. I'll look up the Mr. Hobby clear as I know other Mr. Hobby products are available around here. So I got three methods as I see it. 1: Test the TS-13 over a spare decal and wait for result. 2: Get a hold of "Future" and use as a coat under the TS-13, however I need to know more about what Future is so I can check for the swedish equivalent. Floor Polish you say, any more specific info on what it really is? 3: Safest method, Clear first, decals second.
  17. Hi! I wonder if anyone knows about a clear that's somewhat widely distributed (in other words available for purchase in the EU/sweden) Since I don't have an airbrush at the moment I'm in need of a rattle can clear, I have the Tamiya ts-13 as it's still available in Sweden but it's as I've heard too hot for decals. A slight problem is the "new" directions from the EU about shipping aerosols by air mail, so I need to get a hold of it, preferably in the Nordics, or EU so it can be shipped by surface mail. So if anyone from Europe can give me any recommendations, or if anyone who knows about a good "cold" clear and can look up distribution in Europe that would be greatly appreciated. (I've heard though that the Tamiya ts-13 will become less hot once decanned and shot through an airbrush, is this correct?) Paint and primer will for now be Tamiya ts and Tamiya fine surface primer.
  18. Ahhh! Thought you meant a whole new body in resin. That actually sounds great, I'll have a look. Thanks for the info. Getting the feeling this will be a fun build.
  19. Same here! Feels wonderful to finally be at the top of the foodchain!
  20. Thank you!
  21. Thanks for the input. Yeah, based on the monogram bboxart I've already started planning the scratch building. The fender flares, deepening of the grille, the rear window "flares" and the mandatory filling and sanding. Don't know how much work I'll be shaving off the build process by buying a resin 73, but the risk of ruining it would become significantly bigger. I have no experience with resin and almost none of the purple stuff paint stripping solutions are available in Sweden.
  22. Thanks all! Yep, body is brush painted. If I remember correctly all of the kit was molded in a white/off-white/bone white color. Pelikan series 55, as always. Will never use another brand or model paintbrush for anything. Master Class, Pure red sable. I think I used a #3 for the body.
