  1. Thanks Jonathan, and so do I. This has become my main build right now as I love the 787b and the fact that Stefan Johansson raced this particular car, Swedish pride. Get back to work on this tonight. Still gotta figure out how to fasten the wires. Also got to lay down some paint on the body since I want to finish this car this month or so. Sigh, gassing out is a b*tch.
  2. Ouff. That's a bad car. In the good way. Planning on putting some trim between the orange and tan on the side? Think that would make the colors pop even more. Maybe bmf chrome or a black trim.
  3. Uhhh. I hate the R-word more than the S-word. Snow is usually expected, but rain... that sh*t just shows up ruin your mood.
  4. Man, do I have a lot of questions about clearing. At first I stocked up on the Tamiya ts-13 thinking "great, stick to the same brand and you'll be fine" but little did I know about the fear of my clear eating my decals (and since I'm building race cars we don't want that do we). So I got the tip of using Testors Wet look clear, problem is, I can't seem to get a hold of it in Sweden and I can't get aerosols shipped (thanks, European Union!). Yesterday I found Testors glosscote spray at my favourite hobby shop (Yay!) and my question now is: 1. What's the difference between wet look and glosscote? 2. Can I use it over the Tamiya ts lacquer? 3. Will it harm my decals? Or did I, as per protocol, get over excited once again. Med vänliga hälsningar, as we say in Sweden, the land of the non-existing clear coats Robin
  5. Love the name and your attention to detail is out of this world. Alltho I must say I liked it better in primer gray.
  6. As a Swede I'm obliged to hate this idea, however! As a Swede I love seeing volvo's getting trashed. And as a car freak I love the idea! Keep it up!
  7. What Technique did you use for the rust? Looks really to scale.
  8. Thanks Austin. I'm having some fitting issues on the ignition wires. They're telephone wires, what glue do you recommend using? Should I remove the copper wires from the casing or will that destroy the flexibility and shape memory?
  9. Thanks guys! I actually got pictures of the le Mans engine, but only two.
  10. Looks wacky enough to actually work. I like it. Maybe they need to get smoothened out to flow with the rest of the body.
  11. Started on this Mazda a while back as I grew sick of my other ongoing builds. Today I started to wire the engine. Ugh there's a lot of things going on on these Wankels. More when I got more done. Cheers.
  12. It could be the Quaker state Buick, but somehow the front end of the Buick doesn't seem right in my memory. Definitely the right shade of color on the first two Brett. I think it was somewhat metallic. The skoal seems a bit to old though. Sorry I can't give you anything more to go on. I'll see if I can't dig out some parts for identification. Thanks for the help so far.
  13. I've done some small part corrections with a bic lighter. Bending it too much and letting it go back a bit by its own memory.
  14. Hi guys! Since I'm Swedish my NASCAR knowledge is nothing to brag about. (however I did cry when Garth Brooks sang a tribute to Dale, ugh.. ) When I was younger I found a couple of my dads old tossed away models in the attic. And in the box there was this wonderful body of a semi-built NASCAR. The car was metallic, almost a cactus green, and I think the kit was molded in this color but I can be wrong. I'm also pretty sure it was box stock, therefore I think some manufacturer released this green, unknown, wonderful NASCAR. Any ideas? Cheers.
  15. I'm interested in late 80s through 90s nascars. Anyone willing to ship to Sweden? I will of course cover the shipping fees.
  16. That brown screams of luxury.
  17. X3. Remember what I built when I was 15. Who doesn't fancy floating alternators and unwired distributors? I was a real fan of JP back in these days and I remember that race. He fought well.
  18. Simply amazing. Great work. Now I want to rebuild my El Camino. Maybe... Blue?
  19. Wow, this brings back memories. The first bike I ever ran that didn't involve pedals was an 80-something CR125. It was just me and my best friend, we took off for the woods and didn't come home until sundown. I had a great time.
  20. Thanks for the input. I covered a kit with the Mr. Muscle oven cleaner last night so we'll see. Hopefully it works.
  21. I love Mattias. He's a great guy in every way. He'd be proud of that model. It looks stunning. Let's hope his luck turns for this season.
  22. My user name comes from Joshua Fit For Battle. A somewhat unknown band from Newark, Delaware which in some way found its music playing through my ears in the deep woods of Sweden. At first I traded the Joshua part for my own name, Robin Fit For Battle. Somewhere I lost my name and fitforbattle was left. It has now more or less become a part of my whole life as I live it always being fit for any battle I may have to fight. I AM fitforbattle. Always. My avatar was the only picture I had on my phone at the time of registering.
  23. I would first of all pay off my mothers bank loan. After all she has done for me and my brother, needing to even get that loan in the first place, it seems like the only fair thing to do for her. Then I would get a bit bigger place for me and the Mrs. I would probably get higher education in some way, so I can go on and work with what I love. I would probably spend some cash on spoiling the previously mentioned girl whom I live for, and give some to my mom so she can raise her living standards and maybe take a well deserved vacation. Might throw in a new car for her aswell, one she can drive in other directions and not just to the mechanics and back every week (crappy Opels) And last but not least I would get a 1/24 kit of a Ferrari 250 gto and a airbrush setup.
  24. I have my little girl, who has had a great upbringing learning not to steal daddys models, she's perfect, except for her favorite hobby: putting her hair in my paint. Also she can't eat her food from the bowl, she has to carry it to the hallway carpet and of course leave some for us to step on. Little pieces of Lego grade hell. Here she is, our beautiful 4 year old exotic Persian, snövit (which means snow white in swedish)
  25. Do you mean what other parts to weather for the daily driver look? Under chassis and wheel wells. Engine compartment. Front and grill, maybe you went a long way on a highway and caught some bugs.
