  1. I remember building one of these back in the 70's for a bloke , i had no trouble with the doors or the tilting of the cab . Remember it looked so cool amongst the amt trucks . I got one here somewhere in the garage , i got as far as stuffing a 903 cummins in it and putting bud wheels all round . I must dig it out and finish it .
  2. Modelart , ben its in the newsagent in the hobbie section mate .
  3. No , what they are sayin is we have another supplier of amt kits here because they are so expensive here suppliers come and go . You can pay between 50-60 dollars for a kit but the rude thing is for another 20 you can a truck kit ?
  4. I just won one of these on ebay , it is the bad news version. Can you bring down the rear or is that how it comes out ? . Nice clean build mate .
  5. Yep , here they even had little mirrors on rods and looked under all vehicles entering the bases , my wife said that the gates were maned with soldiers with loaded weapons . They had been told if the vehicle entered and drove straight at them they were to stop them with whatever means available .
  6. If you go to the womans belt section at walmart or a similar place you should find a womans belt with moon shaped studs on them .
  7. Geez mate , theres more morons selling latley that have no idea on how to pack stuff they sending in the post .

  10. G,day , was looking in the latest australian model magazine and they say that AMT is releasing the malone drag ramp truck ? Even showed the photo from an old catalouge Any one else hear of this ???????
  11. Love the white family , the red one does look better with the bud wheels on it .
  12. G,day mate , welcome to the forum . Got some neat good condition diecast stuff as well .
  13. Gee thats a mighty unit . I just picked up the cement mixer one of these the other day .
  14. G,day , out here in australia you can buy an anti splater screen that you put on a frying pan when cooking so it doesnt spit all over the stove . You would best try the asian supermarket in the pan section if you have one in your area .
  15. I think only the early Astros had these, as they don't seem to appear on later models. They were very small and I would imagine not as easy to use for seeing to the rear. I used these because they are rare. I also prefer the larger mirrors. Ok , i never brought this or the chevy kit back in the 70's because i thought they were the only mirrors in the kit . I only found out later on that there was a choice of mirror .
  16. G,day , not a big fan of the little mirrors . How common where they in their day ?
  17. Looks old , never thought of putting the two small trailers together . Thinking outside the box mate , cool build .

  19. This is outstading , even my wife was tricked and she's seen heaps of models .
  20. Gee the young are not interested in the hobby , yer theres a couple of them here but they are and have grown up in the want it now times . Building takes way to long and really takes thought on how it turns out . The world has changed with all the new technology and lots of people dont have desk top computers but do have tablets and phones that they acsess the net with . Here in australia thats how it is they all are looking at these little machines so maybe thats why this forum has changed so it's user friendly for these little mobile machines ?
