  1. Wonderful. I like it a lot.
  2. Drop dead gorgeous
  3. Thanks Virgil & Jim I'm sure it'll heal quick enough. Under normal circumstances i'd not be bothered by a little knock, things like that go with the job. But Murphy's Law dictates that if you're going to bash yourself it'll always be in the most tender spot Some pain killers & an ice pack or several & it'll be good to go in a few days
  4. looks very nice so far. Nice colour choice too.
  5. What a great thread, you guys are completely off your rockers. I'm loving the story & the build. Please, keep on with the keeping on.
  6. Totally wicked. Great detail & craftmanship.
  7. Beautiful paint & a great choice of colour too.
  8. I spent most of my time with the horses Virgil, feeding, grooming, exercising & shoveling horse exhaust When the occasion requires a Footman or Groom I dress in my scarlet's & fill in in that roll too.
  9. The has to be the wildest ride ever. Totaly mad.....I love it. Fantastic Doc !!
  10. Thanks for all your comments guys. The build might slow a bit as today I had an accident at work. Three weeks ago I had a "Carpal Tunnel Relief" operation on my right hand. Today at work I squashed the same hand in the Swing Tree of a carriage while hitching up a pair of Stallions, I don't mind admitting it brought a tear to my eye. If you're interested, this is where I work; http://www.blagdonhorsedrawncarriages.com/
  11. I can't see a single thing I don't like. Love it.

  13. Hey Fella's. Here's a few mock up shots.
  14. The nights are drawing in, time to head back to the bench.

  15. Good evening Guys,.....at least it is here I've not posted on this thread before so this is a new bench for you. I try to keep the bench tidy becuase its so small & also cuz I'm a fussy old duffer who doesn't like working in a mess So this is how it looks right now, how you like it.
  16. Hey Fella's. Sorry about the delay, sometimes life just keeps getting tin the way doesn't it So, the story so far; I've sprayed the chassis & all the bits `n' bobs with acrylic matt black from a rattle can. I didn't have a gloss black ratteler so I airbrushed Humbrol enamel gloss black on all the chassis bits`n`bobs. They came out ok-ish but not great but after some subtle weathering I think they'll look fine, Then came the wheels; I'd really like to hear what you think about the way I've painted & weathered them. Firstly on the tyres; I free-hand painted the white walls with an artists acrylic white paint. They looked ok, but very stark. I wasn't that happy with the finish because I wanted them to have a "used" look, something a little more mellow. When the paint was almost dry I lightly dusted on a mixture of pastle chalk. Firstly to tone down the white walls & secondly to take the shine from the tyres. I was after a dusty aged effect, which I hope the pale yellow & brown chalk gives them, & I wanted them to look like they'd been kerbed, hopefully they do.
  17. Hey Eyegore, keep the coffee coming man, the Dr's on a roll.
  18. Oh yeah, I can see where this is heading.........all the way to the asylum, & I'm coming too.......(thinks) now where did I leave my streight jacket...... Bring it on Dr.
  19. My flabber is well & truly gasted. Staggering build.
  20. Hey folks. I'm working on the wheels & chassis just now. I'll post some pictures when I get home.
  21. Hey guys. Thank you all for your comments & suggestions. I'm not sure which technique I'll go with yet. I need to sit down, model in hand & go through the thread before I make a decision. Many thanks.
  22. Very very nice. Wonderful paint too.
  23. Thats another good fix Virgil. You have more faith in my sausage fingers & dexterity than I do but it would surly make for a strong join. Thank you.
  24. Thanks Jim. Sounds like that old `41 did your parents proud. What you see here with the foiling is the finished article. What you don't see are all the aborted attempts to get there
