  1. Two more good ideas. Thank you gents.
  2. Very different. I like it a lot.
  3. I'm a little late to the party but what a wild project. I love `ol Ratty. We don't see enough of this kind of amazing workmanship over this side of the lake.
  4. Thats time well spent IMHO. Love the colours.
  5. Love the bench its a lot tidier than mine. The model looks good too.
  6. Oh no what a shame the paint pealed. Are we talking total stip & re-spray here or a patch up. Try not to loose heart Silken, I'm sure it'll turn out just fine.
  7. Appreciated Flyod.
  8. Thanks Virgil. I'm not a fast builder, but the joy is in the journey right.....least I think so
  9. Hey guys. Thanks for the advice, all dually noted. I’ll dig out the broken part, I’m sure I’ve got it somewhere & try your fix Steve. Failing that I’ll give your technique a go Dwayne. Thank you for your time.
  10. I forgot to add this link to the above post. This is where you can get the paint. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_163385_langId_-1_categoryId_165505#dtab
  11. Thank you all for the kind words & encouragement. To answer some questions; The colour is Halfords Ford Highland green. I wanted a green coloured car, & to be honest this was a `best guess’ for a period `41 green. I’m pleased you like it because it tells me that I made a fairly good guess. Yup, I’m a first time foiler, I’ve seen it used so many times here I thought I’d give it a try. It’s wonderful stuff; it’ll be a permanent fixture in my tool box from now on. As for the grill, well the chrome in my kit looks a little ropey so I fetched it off with oven cleaner & re-sprayed it with Alclad. A grey wash of oil paint was then applied & sealed with Klear. I intend to add a little light weathering to the body. I don't want to over do it so a subtle dusting with some chalks will sufice. I appreciate your time spent with me on this thread. More soon
  12. Hey guys. Have you any suggestions as to how I can fix this ? I inadvertently squeezed too hard when I was foiling. Now I'm foiled I've tried "butt joining" plastic strip but I can't get a strong enough join, even with Super-glu.
  13. Hey fellas. There are many amazing builds here & I've been following a few. But mostly I've been lurking in the shadows feeling too nervous to post my humble offerings. I realise now that you are a friendly bunch of guys & very fair with your comments so I've plucked up courage for my first WIP. I hasten to add that I've been away from modelling for a long time.........my, how things have changed So here is my `41 Plymouth. The body was sprayed with a rattle can & then polished. I then introduced myself to Bare-Metal Foil. This is amazing stuff (but you guys know that already ) but it took me a while to get the hang of using it. Your comments are most welcome.
  14. Well I never, you could nock me down with a feather. A few minutes ago while viewing the Hudson Hornet Build madness thread my Wife looked over my shoulder & said "I wonder who'll build the first Hudson gasser" Spooky or what BTW. Great project GO FOR IT !!
  15. I really really like that model. And Ditto what skip said.
  16. Beautiful
  17. Unfortunately I am Vergil But I don't know about the other fellas
  18. A good start Matt to an interesting project. I'd go with the turbo.
  19. This looks an interesting build. Mind if I tag along?
  20. Jeeeze guys those builds are looking good.
  21. Hey Billy, I really like what your doing. I'll be honest with you, I'm not too sure about the interior.........but its growing on me This is my favorite shot. From this angle she looks one tough motor, mean & muscular. Love it If this car could speak she'd growl "Pink slips? Ya think? Have a go if you think you're tough enough" Run baby run.
  22. Ditto what Jim said. A very nice build, good job.
  23. Its not really my thing but I can appreciate good modelling when I see it. Nice job & a cool ride.
