  1. First up is the 'Long John' dragster from Monogram. I think this is the Galaxie reissue as it came with resin tires with the wide whites already done. The wheels are the kit pieces covered in Bare Metal foil and lightly sanded (chucked them in the lathe and hight them lightly with some sandpaper; 800 grit, I think). This the Revell B-M 69 Camaro. It's gonna be basically box stock with some minor parts swaping goin' on (wheels from the AMT Concept Camaro, exhaust from the Revell 69 Yenko Camaro). Paint is Tamiya Mica Red with 3 coats of Tamiya Transparent Red. Looks much more intense in real life. Whatcha all think?
  2. Apparently the tutone green I laid on my Concept Camaro; nobody else seems to like it. <shrug>
  3. After taking too many weeks and encountering too many real world setbacks, it's finally finished.
  4. Wow ... folx are wondering about issue 120 and Lo and Behold, issue 119 just hit my mailbox today!
  5. 572 Big Block TPI, Huh? I gots to get me one o' those!
  6. I know what your pictures show but here are a pair of 331/354 Hemi exhaust manifolds currently on ebay. They look equally spaced. And here's a pair of Desoto Hemi manifolds. These look similar in shape to the ones in your pictures. Again, equally spaced ports.
  7. You are haunted by the specter of a '64 T-Bolt, perhaps?
  8. Bill makes EVERYTHING work!
  9. I'm gonna answer you with a question ... Do YOU want opening doors on that particular model? Don't do something because "it will help win a contest;" it probably won't. Do something because YOU want to and if it turns out right, enter it! Who knows, you might take home some hardware. Before you ask, yes, I enter contests; mostly to have fun and meet folks and learn things. "Winning" is not a priority for me though I do have a modest collection of hardware to show for my efforts. 10. Cool ... that gives me some thoughts .. thanx!
  11. Not even close ... but no, I won't post a picture to prove it.
  12. Ah ... OK ... then I'm excused from this one.  Organization in my shop is not one of my strong suits.
  13. You're doing an RS grille? Cool! How you doin' it?
  14. I've always used the 58-59 Lincoln as a counter to the folks who said the Edsel was ugly. Comparatively, the Edsel IS a "Thing of Great Beauty.""
  15. Craig ... I think Russell would be proud! You've got his industrial look nailed!
  16. Very nice work! Aren't the machines FUN?
  17. First up is my little boy's first build that he completed all by himself. Up to this point Dad has had to help with some portion of the assembly. On this one, I did have to drill out a hole but Grant built this one. It's a 1/32 scale rally car kit from Revell. Next up is a quickie paint experiment. Testors 'Chezooom' painted with Duplicolor Metal Specks Orange and clear coated with Deft Gloss Clear. This was another quickie,; an AMT 1964 Galaxie painted with Tamiya Bright Red. This one helped me break out of a bit of a slump. This one is being built for the Tuner Challenge at the Kirkwood MO Fall Show. It's an Aoshima Mazda RX-8.
  18. R&D Unique does the 54 Corvair showcar in their Mini Exotics line. They also do the Waldorf Nomad.
  19. So, Ismael ... Was the SCCA site any help to ya?
  20. Thanks! I made the decals. This car was inspired by a man named Lloyd LeGrand. He owned a repair shop when I was in High School. He used to let all us "gear heads" hang out at the shop, gawk and learn and drink a cold soda now and again. Sometimes we'd even work on our cars under Lloyd's watchful eye. I was just thinking about him the other day and this was the result.
  21. That's NICE! Love the interior!
  22. Nah, she ain't legal, she wasn't built for cruisin'.
  23. So that's waht they look like built stock. Here's mine, very mildly customized
  24. Body from the AMT Phantom Phaeton kit. Chassis and power train from the Revell 32 Ford. It started out to be a primer rod but it ended up crying out for a real color.
  25. Izzy ... The SCCA General Competition Rules are at the following website http://www.scca.org/Club/Index.asp?IdS=020...amp;x=030%7C057 I think this contains all the information you're asking for in one section or another (it's a big book but it's a free download). It lays out all the equipment requirements for all the classes.
