  1. Except that, as a buyer you can receive only positive feedback or no feedback. Sellers are no longer able to leave negative feedback on buyers. In this particular case I don't think it would matter; one bidder has a 4 and the other a 0.
  2. Congratulations, Joe! My son just finished 8th grade, also. It's a milestone; unfortunately it's long enough ago that I don't really remember it very well. As was said earlier, study hard, get good grades; it WILL pay off.
  3. Aaaaahhhh! I'm trying to come up with the funds to build a 4-car garage and here he's tearing down a perfectly good one! :( I think his Rice Krispies told him to do it. "Snap, Crackle, Pop!!!"
  4. Two noobs who think they're getting bargain on real wheels?
  5. Thanx, John. You using a 10-0 or something smaller?
  6. John, How do you do those pinstripes, especially the ones on the dash? Really tiny brush? Elves?
  7. We all say that! It lasts right up until the next cool thing that comes our way.
  8. Well, the seller >did< pay someone to do that to the truck.
  9. To me, this is one of those "If you have to ask, you already know the answer" sorta things unless, of course, your Moral Compass is broken.
  10. And I think they have ample reason. You really don't need to look any further than Accurate Miniatures. Even with several "versions" of the Grand Sport Corvette they ended up selling remaining stock to Revell (no doubt at firesale prices) to rebox. I have no clue what happened or what it took to sell out the McLarens. I'm given to believe, though it could be bad info, that Galaxie still has stock on hand of everything they've done. This doesn't speak well for 'niche markets'
  11. Data point: Cursive is still taught in our School District. Of course we're out in the rural midwest (Hickville to the hoity-toity).
  12. Yep ... I can't wait for the $500 model cars! I mean, seriously? A 1/32 scale toolbox that you have to buy in two parts and costs almost $25??? I don't hear death knells for traditional kits just yet.
  13. I have a possibly relevant (tho possibly not) question: Is this kit produced here in the good ol' USA or do our 'friends' in China make this one?
  14. Not John but I'd say, looking at the color and the pattern that it is one of the roofing patterns from Plastruct.
  15. Sure ... I found a couple more.
  16. Here's a GEO Storm tuner I built a few years back, to prove that an "Old Guy" could. This one, I guess isn't strictly a tuner. It's a box-stock Subaru WRX with custom decals. This one is a sort of 'Euro-Tuner'. It's a Jaguar XJ-S with scratchbuilt bodywork and a wing from Aoshima (I think).
  17. But, the Cord model in question (at least my example) has, proudly emblazoned on the bottom 'Copyright 1955' 'Gowland & Gowland' If G&G never did a Cord then ... ???
  18. Did a little archaeology down in my dungeon. I thought I had something like this ... actually something identical to this: The second picture is what is VERY interesting. I had assumed (there's that word) that this was a Minicraft kit but look closely ...
  19. It also used to be available from Minicraft.
  20. Interesting ... right now (and for the next 20 hours) that EXACT kit is listed on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Highway-Pioneers-Dapol-Cord-1936-Beverly-Phaeton-1-32-Scale-Historic-Car-Kit-/261201847893?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item3cd0d7e655
  21. You sure about that scale? I thought the Highway Pioneers series were closer to 1/32 ... maybe 1/48?
