  1. I think the coolest thing I saw was the Corvette pedal car! And the '28 Durrant would make one wicked rod!
  2. I have a Taig; love it! Wish I had a power feed but that's not in the cards right now.
  3. Maybe it could happen but I kinda don't think so. I don't know all the ins and outs but Steve is on record saying that he doesn't want "just royalties" and he doesn't want to work with Revell or AMT. How he figures to make the kit happen, I haven't a clue.
  4. I use Tamiya Titanium Gold acrylic paint.
  5. For me, SPEED Channel became irrelevant the minute they dropped WRC coverage. There's nothing that beats driving fast on curvy, hilly gravel roads in the snow!
  6. I think she knows exactly what she's doing and it's her ex's car.
  7. OK ... not being smart or anything but where are your new items announced? I have no clue what you (or any of the other Detroit gang) offer that's new. All of the sites seem to be broken to some degree and I'm not going to do a deep search of every (or any) internet forum to find what any resin caster offers. I'm not going to work that hard to spend my money. As far as browser, I use Firefox.
  8. My observation, too. "Easily double your money" he says. What I see there you can easily put on ebay at $10 a pop and "easily watch them languish!"
  9. And that is absolutely correct! Nobody is required to build to your or my esthetic. I happen to agree that it is as ugly as sin and it would never live in my garage, but then again it's not my car.
  10. You do realize that she's an almost 70 year old rocker, right?
  11. Now ... some basic "errors" that bug me to death: 1. Directional tires mounted backwards. They're called "directional" for a reason. 2. Valve covers upside down or backwards. 3. Shifters and transmissions not matching. You know, stick with an automatic ... automatic shifter with a manual. OK ... the stick/auto combination could be explained away as a LOKAR shifter, but .... 4. Way-too-big tires with the tops cut off so the car can still "lay frame."
  12. OK, I'm a weird bird. If I'm detailing under the hood the spark plug wires will be in the correct order (years ago I put together a book of firing orders and, by golly, I'm going to use it!); the heater hoses will be present and routed correctly; the fuel lines will be there; the throttle linkages ... erm ... notsomuch (my eyesight ain't what it used to be and it's never been all that good). All that being said, I'm just as likely to just glue the hood shut and not bother with the engine at all. Like I said, I'm a weird bird.
  13. But yet, earlier you say: So ... correct firing order (which to me is one of those "if you're gonna do it, do it right sorta things) isn't part of the "higher standard"?
  14. Harry Shearer of Spinal Tap and Simpson's fame.
  15. Ace-Garageguy, on 23 Jun 2013 - 4:28 PM, said: This same phenomenon occurs in every hobby I've ever been associated with; the guys at the extremes setting the opposite extreme up as "the enemy". Meanwhile, everybody in the middle gets caught in the crossfire. This is not good phenomenon.
  16. You mean like vintage Chevy Big Blocks with wire separators welded to the valve covers? Personally, I'd rather have the wires over the top instead of laying on the headers; but that's just me.
  17. Hey, Ira! I've been watching your last several builds and I love the stuff you come up with. I do have a question: Do you sketch out what you're thinking or do your models just sorta "organically evolve"?
  18. How DO you do these things? I can barely stick things together with glue! BTW, did you know you can't receive PMs?
  19. And the price was certainly right!
  20. Um ... no. Future is a type of liquid floor finish, a clear coat, if you will. Polishing is a technique by which you accomplish a glossy finish by using progressively finer and finer abrasives.
  21. Congrats, Bill ... well deserved!
  22. One word: "Ewwwww!"
