  1. Nice work. I've been wanting one of these but they go for too much on eBay. I'll snatch one up some time. Keep up the good work. Gonna save these pics for future reference if you don't mind.
  2. Very nice. Especially love the engine. Keep up the good work
  3. Well I didn't start this thing but I'm saying lets do it. I'm in with an AMT 50 Chevy truck with straight six. Gonna do it "old Skool". Lowered but not too low, dual or triple carbs, split exhaust and some engine dress up goodies. Maybe some white walls and patinad paint. Maybe a shop truck look. Firing it up this weekend. Pics soon
  4. Nice work. Gotta love the big 60s pontiacs. Like what you did in the engine bay too. Very nice.
  5. Very nice indeed. I love this period look and you've pulled it off well. The pics with the black background look very real. Keep up the great work.
  6. Love those flames. Did you make your own mask or use a template? Great looking car
  7. Danno, when you have a car like this bald rear tires happen. Lol Thanks for all the praise on the paint. Who says you can't get a good finish with a spray can. One criticism I have of this kit is that they have placed the wheel backs on the chrome tree when they need to be painted and the engine scoop while molded as one nice piece is NOT on the chrome tree?
  8. Went down to Pismo yesterday for some beautiful 75 degree weather and a hell of a car show. Place was packed with people and cars. Kids had fun at the beach too. Heres a couple pics to wet your appetite and a link to the rest. Enjoy. http://public.fotki.com/jcbigpaw/pismo-beach-june-16-2012/ Foot note- Got home at 9:00pm and it was STILL 95 degrees. I wanna go back to Pismo!
  9. Love the paint and stance. Looking forward to more on this.
  10. So here's me Revell/Gearz entry finally finished. What? The contest is over? Timing is everything. Oh well, had to get it done anyway. Nothing fancy on this build, didn't even wire the motor. Straight from the box mixing the stock and race parts to come up with the kind of car you see every weekend at the local car show. Nice paint, big motor, lots of attitude. Engine was done with Testors Pontiac Blue Metallic. Interior is satin black Rustoleum. Body was shot with two coats black primer then sanded with extra-fine and covered with three coats Gloss Black, also Rustoleum. Finished it up with a nice rub down with Meguires. Only change i made was to swap out the drivers side mirror for one from the parts box. The kit mirror was huge. Didn't look right. Thanks for looking.
  11. If this is a go you can count me in. I have several truck kits waiting to get on the desk. Maybe a classic with all new mechanicals and lots of patina.
  12. Very nice
  13. Thanks for the kind words Bob. I've had this build rattling around in my head for quite a while (years). The air cleaners are from two AMT 1950 Chevy truck kits (with the straight six). Carbs were a set of small four barrels I had in the parts box. Can't remember what they were from. By the way Erik, good start on that van. Believe it or not I know someone that has his original "Woodstock" van on blocks in the garage still. Looks pretty similar. Lol
  14. Anyone that's into "old Skool" rods can tell you that straight sixes are bad a##. Dual or triple carbs with a split exhaust, nothing else sounds like that. The finned aluminum dress up parts are great looking too. I have two 50 Chevy trucks that would work here. One is built as a rat rod type truck but the other is still unbuilt an if this flies I'll jump in. ?
  15. I don't know how bad your windows have been painted on but I had a 79 Z28 "Road Warrior" type build that I restored and the windows had been painted on as part of the weathering. I was able to use Crest toothpaste between my fingers as a polishing compound to remove the paint and polish the "glass". I followed that up with a Meguires polish and it turned out well. Good luck
  16. Bob I gotta tell you I am very impressed with the level of detail on that cobra. Incredible. I can only hope to some day aspire to your level of expertise. In the mean time I do have a GT350H I've been wanting to get to so this is a good excuse. Count me in.
  17. I love this idea. I've got several ideas I've been brewing for some time along these lines. One is a 46-48 ford conversion using the sedan body w a truck bed but not really an el camino so would that qualify? The other I've been dying to build was a Krass & Bernie creation made from a dodge Daytona. I'll see if I can squeeze it in. Keep up the good work guys.
  18. Looking good. I'll be watching your progress
  19. I've been wanting to build one of these. Nice work.
  20. If you check the web you'll turn these up with big block V8s and full tube steel frames. I've even seen one with a late model Cadillac Northstar. One show I went to a guy had one with a dual turbo V8 mounted in the rear under a cover. No back seat but full deck lid. Took a little time to figure out how he did that.
  21. The carbs shouldn't be a problem. I see guys run bajas like that all the time. Now your gonna have to put good filters on them to keep the rubber out of them. Lol

  23. Looking forward to more pics Nick.
  24. Very nice. I especially like the engine work. Great job
