  1. ummm, pics are gone... did ya put them in an album??
  2. didn't get lazy with the paint!!! nice build, good stance... so, kit body, resin, ummm??
  3. nice build.... i found one of these kits at a bargin store for a couple bucks back when the Days of Thunder cars had just come out and transformed the 51 MelloYello car into a Goodwrench Lumina 'cept for the silver numbers...back to the present, i DO have one of these kits in my '3' area...lol it worked for me!!
  4. i always did like Big John's cars, got the Baracuda funny yet to build...
  5. '27 Ford roadster, so we can make cooool streetrods...
  6. nice bike!!! i love the smell of 2strokes in the morning....
  7. hey Doc....back when i was using enamel only, i would make box 'covers'* for the presh bodys to dry UNDER so not crud lands in the paint... even cut vents in the top and covered them w/cheesecloth, spray a little water inside the box to catch the errant bit, come back to it in a week[lolol] and it's dry and speck free!! *i use a stand built from 2X4 and coat hangar arms...for me, an old carb cleaner box, tape the flaps in the up position was perfect for me...but, any box will work...
  8. shiny rusto.... that's kinda like Army intelegence, does not compute....
  9. i haven't been able to 'rust up' something, i'm kinda a 'shiny rules' dood, except for dirtcars!! lol....spend ALL that time to make it right, then..... i just can't..... sigh....
  10. nah, heck you could even use white, any color lacquer will work... just go right over the primer on the body now...
  11. check BlackGold for the HoK paint...
  12. weird....i've never had any probs with red plastic...try painting it with silver lacquer, then your colorcoat...
  13. thought perhaps when the paint screws up on one it becomes a Cranky!!
  14. i've never had any bleed probs with PlastiCote sandable primers...T235, T236, T237, T234[?] grey, white, black, red...these are a good barrier for lacquers on plastic... srsly, with the grey, never had a bleed prob....
  15. i've found that if you make a 'loop' in the tape wide enough to go UNDER the fenders so you have a little raised tape to stick the hood on and still do the edges also, it sits the hood just above the body but still attached for color continunity...
  16. clean streetrodney..
  17. ooooooooooooo.....nice.... but, how do you determine which one is gonna be a Cranky???
  18. gotcha, kinda the show at the shopping center in Jan!!! lol it's easy to 'mud um', just use real MUD!!! really, just make up a slurry kinda slop grab an old toothbrush and flick away!!! this is how i start out...well, this was with a built kit, it's a bit easier to get muddy without the wheels/tires on, ya do them seperately, anyway... flickin... more pix.... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v470/weasel221/Muddin/
  19. cool rodney....and welcome! another 'background' tip...got any big calendars?? like Wurth, Avon, etc... pretty large piece of white paper that's fairly thick... i'v painted a few, light blue, dusted and fogged black, clearcoat[for reflection], black, you can come up with whatever color background you want!!
  20. ummm, kinda clean for dirtcar's aren't they?? lol great builds all...
  21. Neal also rides motorcycles...follows the tour bus kinda thing, well, in front of the tour bus, if it can keep up!! lol... so, i 'get' him on 2 fronts as i ride a lot....
  22. you had me at dirtcars!!! love the Vette, i may 'borrow' that idea... lol
  23. i 'molded' mine to look like a 1piece fibreglass frontend... oh, and it's yella now with the hood 'slot' narrowed...
  24. did the rest of the body have white primer on it?? just grey on the hood??
