Filler for scratches and seems ?
weasel replied to rickd13's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
or, use a 'spot putty' , the red stuff, OR 3M makes a 2part 'sputty' that sands/feathers nicely...i've found that CA sands 'hard', sometimes you end up taking more plastic than needed to 'smooth out' the CA filler... -

i just put 6 gascans together that i found looking for something else...found about 5 'toolboxes', tops and bottoms, from the Monogram stockers... -
i love the NNL's...been to Jersey twice, met Jarius out there, purple koolaid or something?? lol been to Atlanta a handfull of times, even 'stole' a sign, sent Bob/zz a ransom note...lol been to my home NNL, Toledo about 10 times.... i've found that if/when you got to any of these, you need to have a BUDGET for the swap, if not, YOU WILL SPEND TO MUCH $$$$$ lol... my 1st NNL East, i was just AMAZED at the number and quality of builds that were there, something like 1100-1200 models!!! biggest i'd seen was a Toledo NNL that had around 500+ models... and seeing people that you only see at shows etc... stories...even met Auggie at Toledo one year, verrrrry nice, no airs kinda guy...seeing kids talking to the Biggins' about something on their model, not really a competition, more of a model show...

Rattlecan vs. Airbrush
weasel replied to ZombieHunter26's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
i'm a firm believer in PlastiCote sandable primers, T235,T236,T234,T237...grey, black, red oxide and white...makes a good barrier for lacquer on plastic, is fairly thin, but covers well and sands well... although i've had an airbrush for more than 10-12 years, i think i've only used it a handfull of times, to much clean-up 'tween colors, rattlecans here also... did ya know that the different color spraytips have different spray patterns??? primer can tip when used on a color can puts out about 1 1/2 times more paint than primer...Testor clearcoat tips put out a kinda fog more than a spray...me personaly, i would rather use lacquer than enamel just for the dry time difference and i like 2tone cars...enamel needs at least a week to ten days to be ready* for 2nd color, i can do a 2 color lacquer job in a weekend... *so as not leave tape marks in the paint... -

Avoid the glue bottle, and make your own paint color.
weasel replied to Jon Cole's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
i do that when the bottle starts getting low and i replace it, well, the unused old stuff gets the 'custom mix' and i put a splash on the cap for reference.. -
