1903 London tram
Harry P. replied to Harry P.'s topic in WIP: All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
It's not really all that big... maybe 11-12 inches long. It's only 1/24 scale, not "big" scale. -
Same company (Occre) that makes the London tram I posted earlier. Same type of 1/24 scale multi-media kit (laser-cut wood parts, cast white metal, brass rod, wooden strips, plain paper "decals," etc.) This model represents the first electric tram in Berlin, it's route was actually in the West Berlin suburbs (Westliche Berliner Vorortbahn). It remained in service until 1943, at which point Berlin was basically a wreck.

Yes, I posted a London double-decker bus. -
I think K&S makes two types of brass rod... hard and soft. You can bend the soft kind very easily, no annealing needed.
-
And yet. apparently that's exactly what you did. In each case you posted the Email/IM link instead of the URL link.

Your photos didn't upload correctly because you posted the email/IM links. You need to post the URL links. I posted your photos. There's no problem with this site's software. It was you that was posting the wrong information.

Horsing Around
Harry P. replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
But that doesn't make it right. The whole idea behind a traditional "hot rod" was to remove whatever wasn't needed and didn't make the car faster. Hence, the hood... gone! The fenders... gone! But the body itself wasn't narrowed, it was stock. This idea of taking relatively late-model car bodies and narrowing them to fit between the wheels is silly and completely disingenuous to the concept of what a "hot rod" is (or is supposed to be). I dunno... maybe this stuff looks good to some of you guys, but to me it looks just plain goofy. -
Don't think I've posted this one before. If I have, I apologize. But maybe some of you will be seeing it for the first time. It's a 1/24 scale London double-decker tram. The kit is by Occre, a Spanish company, and is multi-media... laser-cut wooden pieces, cast white metal, brass rod you have to bend to shape for the handrails on the stairs and the guardrails on the upper level, aluminum sheet you have to form for the walls on the stairs, clear acetate for the "glass," etc. A little of everything. The "decals" are actually just printed on plain paper... you have to figure out a way to attach them! I used Future as the "glue," painted it on the surface and then embedded the paper graphics in it.

He has been banned. Again.

Very impressive! Although you are missing a few details (wipers, hose clamps, etc.) But overall, a beautiful model.

Posting photos that way (directly from your computer) is a bad idea. This is not meant to be a photo hosting site. When you post a picture directly from your own computer as you described, that photo sits here on our server taking up space. Can you imagine the amount of space we would need (and have to pay for) if everyone posted photos that way? To avoid that problem, this site only allows you a very limited amount of space to upload photos directly, and once you hit that limit, it won't let you post any more photos that way. The right way to do it is to post your photos to a photo hosting site. Then you post the link to the photo here. That way, we see the photo, but it's physically still sitting on your photo hosting site's servers, not ours. And you can post as many photos as you want by doing it that way. Photo sits on your photo hosting site's server, you post only the link to it here.

That car makes about as much sense to me as this one... -

I also want to hate it. And I do. Looks like something from a carnival bumper car ride. -
I do.
