  1. What do you mean, they didn't have the "technology?" The "technology" required to have a recessed panel line on the finished piece is a corresponding raised rib on the tooling. If they had the "technology" to correctly tool the fairly intricate detail on the grille, the hood, the seats, the spark plug detail on the head, etc... they obviously had the "technology" needed to correctly tool up recessed panel lines.
  2. Beautiful! I love how the firewall and wheels match. Very nicely thought out...
  3. Somebody explain to me why the door panel lines on this kit stick out from the surface instead of being recessed. The only possible "reason" I can come up with is a massive brain freeze on the part of the people who cut the tooling. Even back in the Stone Age when this kit was tooled, door panel lines didn't stick up from the surface!
  4. Cool! Nice to see models of cars we don't see that much of.
  5. Gotta disagree, Skip. That looks cool! I'm no fan of the "ground scraping" look, it looks cartoonish and silly to me... but raise that car 2-3-4 inches, and wow! You've got something!
  6. If I remember correctly, the vault wasn't completely empty. There were a couple of empty liquor bottles in there...
  7. Same here.
  8. So... aside from the PE fret, which may or may not float your boat, the best thing about this kit is the box art!
  9. Does that car look an awful lot like a Chryser Airflow? It sure does to me...
  10. Here you go. Can't fix the bad focus, though... too far off for PS to be able to fix. BTW, what scale is this?
  11. Yes, that's true...
  12. I don't have a problem with Geraldo. I probably agree with him about as often as I disagree with him. He's kind of hard to pin down. He's a liberal on some issues, a conservative on others. That tells me that he's more than a partisan hack. And I'm sure there were plenty of TV people besides him who were pushing for that whole "Capone's Vault" thing.
  13. It's looking very good so far.
  14. If that grille insert is one of the PE parts, that alone is pretty cool.
  15. Nice work on the comparison...
  16. Wow! That is absolutely freakin' amazing! What can i say? Exceptional weathering, fantastic photography... and 4,000 coffee sticks! This is hands down one of the best big rig models I have ever seen.
  17. It says it includes PE parts... so that's new...
  18. The shifter doesn't come out of the console? I don't think I've ever seen a car with a console and a floor shifter where the shifter doesn't come out of the console. I'll have to google that and see. If that's the case, I can't believe I missed that all these years/
  19. Must be a brand new release (or re-release with new box art?)... I've never seen it before.
  20. Very nice. Pretty slick, I like what you've done here. But one question... why isn't the shifter coming up out of the center console?
  21. I agree with Pete on the wheels, but regardless of that, a super clean, sharp looking model. Very nice.
  22. You can hardly blame him for the fact that the vault was empty.
  23. Check your PM in box, I just sent you a message.
