  1. Wow... I sure don't see cars like that around here!
  2. The problem is that most people would hardly regard those old Hudson Miniatures as "kits" as we define them... they're more like a box of raw materials you can use to create the parts to build the model! There are very few molded plastic parts in there... wheels, steering wheel, lights... that's about it. Everything else has to be scratchbuilt with the material they supply, including the chassis, body, fenders, etc.
  3. You're comparing a full size car with a model! Now take that seam and make it 25 times smaller and what do you get? A seam that should be barely visible on a 1/25 scale model... which is what Randy's model now (correctly) has. Look at his "before" and "after" versions and you'll see how much more realistic the model looks with those huge black canyons gone. The seams are still there, still visible... but look much more "in scale" and realistic. The "toylike" look is gone. A huge improvement.
  4. Not exactly...
  5. I'll give you a pass on no mirrors... but the taillights look a little wonky. Not your fault, I think... it's the way the model is made.
  6. It wasn't a kit, though. it's a diecast model that I took apart, detailed, and rebuilt.
  7. I was waiting to post until after the boys of summer have gone...
  8. Beautifully done in every way... except the metalflake paint. Not exactly "period correct."
  9. Much better. That last photo could almost pass for the real thing.
  10. Yes! And after they've already started unloading their cart onto the belt! I've had that happen to me too! How truly clueless and self-absorbed do you have to be to do that?
  11. Just another example of not paying attention and not sweating the details.
  12. I went grocery shopping this morning. Got a parking spot right outside the door. Got to the deli counter... I was the only person there. Got to the checkout... I was the only one there, no line. Now that's my kind of grocery shopping.
  13. I was kind of expecting the Mustang to be on that list.
  14. Remember... don't post any hints or answers here. PM me with year, make, and model. The answer: 2013 Opel Adam
  15. Are the citizens of Paris called "Parisites?"
  16. I can't believe that in a metro area of 9 million people, I saw a Tesla on the road for the first time only the other day. Or at least, it's the first one that I saw and actually recognized. I may have seen others but they didn't register... they look like many other luxury cars at a glance.
  17. As the technology evolves and 3-D printers become common, you can bet that companies will be jumping in and providing all sorts of files to print.
  18. How did you do the "Ranger" and "EDSEL" scripts on the sides? Brush painted? They look very good.
  19. They started Model A production in October 1927. Technically a 1928 model... but I think you get the point of the article.
  20. Looking for an affordable "collector car?" http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/07/04/4-great-american-classics-for-under-25000/?intcmp=features
  21. Oh, ok. I didn't realize those were separate parts.
