  1. You guys are hilarious!
  2. Driving downstate to see my daughters in Champaign/Urbana. Or is that Urbana/Champaign? Either way... food, fireworks, and fun!
  3. Just saw this for the first time. Wow! I am impressed! That is ultra cool!
  4. Very cool! But Moline is a city in Illinois. I think you mean moulin rouge...
  5. You're definitely going to need bigger tires.
  6. Peter... can you yodel in Maori?
  7. Dragnet wasn't a Quinn Martin production, it was produced by Jack Webb's own production company, Mk. VII Limited. Mk. VII also did Adam 12 and Emergency, I think.
  8. How do we know you didn't Photoshop that rainbow into the photo...
  9. 90 miles north of Chicago.
  10. Des Plaines Hobbies is the closest to Elk Grove Village... it's just minutes away. Look at google maps...
  11. The two biggest and best hobby shops in the Chicago area (Al's and Venture) are long gone... the one in Des Plaines is somehow still in business, but their kit selection is nothing special, just typical. Besides that one, we have the same franchise stores (Hobby Lobby and Hobbytown USA) that pretty much everyone else has. I guess I'm saying if you're hoping there's some super-cool hobby shop here that'll knock your socks off... there isn't. You're not going to find a whole lot up here that you can't also find right there at home (or online).
  12. A lot depends on where you live, what you drive, how many miles per year, your age and gender, past driving record, etc.
  13. The one in Schaumburg has a limited selection, the one Joe works at in St. Charles has a much better selection. But St. Charles is a haul from EGV.
  14. I switched from Allstate to Geico in February. My premium went down 50%.
  15. Do you live on a farm?

  17. The Valukas report has the facts. And GM itself admitted that they screwed up big time. From the NY Times, June 5, 2014: "Shortly after GM CEO Mary Barra announcing the "deeply troubling" results of a thorough investigation into why it took the automaker years to recall millions of vehicles, federal safety regulators released the report online. The 315 page report chronicles 'a pattern of incompetence and neglect' that led to 'devastating consequences.' 'Repeatedly, individuals failed to disclose critical pieces of information that could have fundamentally changed the lives of those impacted by a faulty ignition switch,' Barra said during an employee town hall meeting Thursday morning at its Warren Technical Center to discuss the report. Valukas and his team conducted more than 350 interviews with more than 230 people and analyzed more than 41 million documents, according to GM. Interviews included past and present employees and a number of third parties." That sounds to me like they have the facts and are not "speculating."
  18. At some point somebody has to sign off on a decision. DeGiorgio signed off. It's on him. And it's on GM in general for ignoring the problem for years. If your point is that this kind of thing is understandable, given the sheer size of the company, i would agree, At GM there are so many people making so many decisions, that bad decisions will inevitably happen once in a while. But again... it was the fact that GM knew they had a problem, yet did nothing, that is the issue. Not how or why the bad decision was made, but that they knew about it–and did nothing.
  19. All you need to do is add the outside rearview mirror. No cop car would be without one.
  20. Gregg talked about it for a while, but he hasn't mentioned it at all lately. Maybe I should ask him about it again, At one time he seemed pretty gung-ho on the idea. I know it would be a blessing for you guys overseas!
  21. You would love it!
  22. They play nothing but old shows from the 50s-60s-70s-80s... stuff like Twilight Zone, Perry Mason, Dragnet, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Dick Van Dyke, the Honeymooners, Rockford Files, Bonanza, Batman, etc. That sort of thing. Check it out... the list of all shows they run is listed here... http://metvnetwork.com/
  23. I have cable on the downstairs TV, but the smaller TV upstairs is antenna, hooked up to my old antenna which is in the attic. I get about 50 stations over the air, 45 of which I didn't know existed! And which I'll probably never watch!
