  1. Beatles? Were they ever big?
  2. You give Gerald Wingrove a run for his money. Outstanding work.
  3. There are a lot of songs by very famous artists out there that are actually covers of Bob Dylan songs... and a lot of people have no idea! A great example... how many people know that this famous "Jimi Hendrix" song was actually written by Bob Dylan? Dave Mason also did a good cover of this song... "All Along the Watchtower."
  4. I envy you. At least you actually started playing! All I can say is that I wish I had... I like that!
  5. You're right on both counts. Probably best not to post Steppenwolf's version of "The Pusher" here (I have the double album "Steppenwolf Live" from like, 1970?... a great version of that song on that album (and a fantastic album altogether, BTW). And also a good Lou Reed cover you posted. I like Cowboy Junkies' version better than the original...
  6. So what else is new? You can just supply a generic weather report for the midwest that would be accurate about half the time: Thunderstorms, damaging winds, hail, possibility of tornados. It's the same old story around here every year.
  7. Too bad the hood doesn't open. Are there aftermarket engines available for these guys (1/32)?
  8. I like that color. Beautiful model!

  10. Very realistic.
  11. Remember, don't post any hints or answers here! PM me with specific year, make, and model. The answer: 1932-33 Stoewer R140/R150 Cabrio-Limousine
  12. See, now that doesn't look too bad! Although I'd call it "root beer" instead of "brown." I agree with Joe... a darker/stronger color just seems to work better.
  13. Sadly, the only thing I can play is the radio. I would love to be able to play guitar, but I just don't have the time it would take to really get into it and get really good. One of my regrets in life is not having taken lessons and learning to play as a kid.
  14. I agree that a white Ferrari stands out from the crowd. So would a Harley with training wheels. It just doesn't work for me.
  15. Speaking of Bob Dylan covers... one of my favorite bands is the Byrds (Chris Hillman, Gene Clark, David Crosby, Roger McGuinn, etc.), and they did a lot of Dylan covers, like "Mr. Tambourine Man," for example. This is one of my favorite Byrds takes on a Dylan song... "My Back Pages." I love that jangly 12-string Rickenbacker sound that Roger McGuinn had... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56mutXECslE
  16. Like a burger and fries are a cliché? Or dinner and a movie? Some clichés work.
  17. I don't know what to say...
  18. If I had a spare couple of hundred million laying around the house I might have made them an offer...
  19. Craig, a perfect example of what I'm talking about. It's amazing how much stuff I always thought was their original material was actually lifted from other people's songs. Sometimes they reworked it a lot... sometimes they just took it almost word for word, note for note.
