  1. Ron, correct. When you upload to here directly, you are uploading the image to this site, where it will now sit forever. On the other hand, if you simply post the URL link here of a photo that is sitting elsewhere (like in your Photobucket account), that image is visible here to us in your post, because the URL is a link that tells this site where to find the photo that you want displayed in your post here... but the data (the actual image) is still sitting on your photo hosting site's server and not taking up space here.
  2. So in your opinion this website should function as your own personal photo storage site? And by extension, everyone else's, too? That's not how it works. This site is not a photo hosting site, it's an online forum. We don't have the massive data storage capacity that a Photobucket or Fotki has. When you upload images to this site, you are extremely limited to the amount of data you are allowed to upload and basically "force" this site to store for you. That's why you should have an account with a photo hosting site like Photobucket, and let that site hold all of your images for you... and only post the links to your images here.
  3. Like Casey said... uploading photos directly from your computer is not the way to do it. You'll soon use up all your allotted space here and it won't lest you post photos anymore. The foolproof way to do it is to store your photos on an image storage site like Photobucket. That way you copy the Photobucket URL of the image and you past that URL here, and we see the photo here... but the actual photo itself is still sitting at Photobucket and not taking up space on this website. Photobucket is free and works perfectly. I've used it for many years. There are many other photo hosting sites out there too... pick one, load your photos there, and then link to them here, do not upload them to this site. That's the secret.
  4. Elwood: What kind of music do you usually have here? Bartender: Oh, we got both kinds. Country and western! So many great lines from that movie...
  5. Elwood: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. Joliet Jake: Hit it.
  6. I think vampires can die if they get garlitis...
  7. So far today it hasn't gotten above zero.
  8. Actually you did a beautiful job on it! It may be bland, it may be beige, it may be boring... but it's a very well done model!
  9. You've probably been looking for them in the wrong place. They're usually in the next aisle over from the left-handed hammers.
  10. Me too. Still haven't gotten around to building it.
  11. Remember... if you know the answer (if you know the source of the photo), do NOT tell us! That ruins the game for everyone else! The answer: REAL!
  12. I doubt you could "Trans Am" a blown car... but a nice model. Looks pretty cool!
  13. Agreed! I was talking to a friend of mine about this exact subject a bit earlier today. I don't remember ever having school closed due to cold. I lived in the city (Chicago) and we didn't have buses. There was no such thing as riding a bus to school. We walked. And we walked home for lunch, and back to school after lunch. No in-school lunch program. We are getting soft as a society!
  14. That looks pretty good for a 2 day project!
  15. Man, that is absolutely off the hook! Fantastic! The level of detail is impressive. I love it!
  16. Well, the web site at least is up and running.
  17. Poor babies!
  18. I generally have several different projects going on at once. I see a kit on ebay, get all stoked, buy it, it arrives, I dive into it... then a few days later I see another kit on ebay, get all stoked, buy it, it arrives, previous kit gets put aside as I dive into the new one... lather, rinse, repeat.
  19. I don't think I can get my fingers to work that small!
  20. Yep, CPS has already decided no school tomorrow.
  21. Tulio, your work is fantastic! That's why we wanted you in the first IHOP book.
  22. The forecast says the "high" tomorrow will be 6º below zero... the low Monday night will be (drumroll please)... 20º BELOW ZERO! That's not "wind chill," folks, that's good old fashioned temperature (or lack of it!). Add in the wind chill and you come up with really really cold. Hey Al Gore... where's that "global warming" when we need it?
  23. Um... I can't help but notice that the back doors don't fit quite right. Are you going to correct that?
  24. I know, but I don't like the bidding stuff. I always buy from "Buy it Now" listings.
