  1. Don't think so. They can do that with the pad on the underside of the hood. Besides, plastic isn't a particularly good sound insulator. I'm sticking with my "cynical" explanation.
  2. I wonder what the real reason for those plastic engine covers is. My cynical mind tells me they're put in place to make the engine seem inaccessible and mysterious to the owner, and maybe "force" the owner to take the car back to the dealer for everything. I can't see any other logical reason to hide the engine under a cover.
  3. So you were holding the camera upside down? Why?
  4. Those tailgate chains are spectacular! Are they made of jewelry chain?
  5. That car is as big as some people's first house...
  6. If you knew what kind of MPG it gets, you probably wouldn't think it's so nice!
  7. My son used to own a late '90s Z-28. The engine was set back so freakin' far, you literally couldn't see the rear two pairs of spark plugs. To change them, you had to do some major disassembly in the engine compartment... yet there was two feet of empty space beween the front of the engine and the radiator. Worst engineered car I have ever seen. He's grown up and gotten a lot smarter since then... drives a Volvo S60 now.
  8. Ditto on the upside-down photos. What's the joke?
  9. Holy cow! That is some shiny paint! It looks like you did a black wash on the grille... it looks very good. Cool model, nice job...
  10. I have a '67 Impala 327. You can see daylight on each side of the engine.
  11. Remember, do NOT post any hints or answers here! PM me with specific year, make and model. The answer: 1989 Ford Corsair 2000E
  12. Man, those are some looooooooooong logs! Nice work.
  13. What is that speaker grille on the package shelf made from?
  14. Dang, man! That is beautiful!
  15. Yeah, that's the problem. Unless, of course, you all are up for coming to Chicago!
  16. Robert, living in Saskatchewan is tough when it comes to shipping costs from US suppliers. It sucks, but it's the reality. No wonder you go out of your way to keep your local hobby shop alive (although in your case "local" isn't exactly local!).
  17. Wow, Tom... that's some precision styrene surgery there! I think you just proved what a racket that "cutter" was!
  18. Hmmm.... beer... pizza...good conversation... what's not to like? Someone has to coordinate this thing and make it happen. Skip, in. Bill, in. Me, in. Any more?
  19. Well now, there's an unusual collection!
  20. It's so funny... even the illustration on that Bonneville kit doesn't look like the real car! Hey, at least they were consistent in their lack of realism!
