  1. I can't answer specifically... but I have no doubt that he's working on something. He always is!
  2. Sorry if my response was "stupid"... I guess I need to try harder. I'm all for newer, better technology. But when you have something that is simple, foolproof, works perfectly, and is cheap and easily available on top of it... why try to "do better?"
  3. Ok... I am not easily fooled, but I thought that you had posted photos of the real thing to show us what your model was a replica of. Amazing!
  4. Interesting. The Pyro facility was actually pretty substantial. Too bad their models were such cr*p!
  5. You're doing a terrific job on this! A pretty ugly car if you ask me, but your work so far looks very good.
  6. Hugh is exactly right... when you paint the inside of the lens, it has that weird "thick" look and just doesn't look right. Best way that I have found is to use Tamiya transparent amber and/or stoplight red and paint the outside of the lens. It doesn't get any more realistic than that.
  7. Welcome, Burt! We're glad to have you.
  8. Glazing putty comes in two different types: one-part and two-part. The two-part stuff is meant to fill larger areas and for rough bodywork, the one-part stuff, which does not require mixing, is meant for small imperfections like scratches.
  9. Gotta agree with that. With the wide variety of products available that are specifically meant to be used as filler, why on earth would you want to use something that's not meant to be used as a filler? It's like saying hey... did you know that you can make a pretty good substitute for toothpaste if you mix some baking soda, salt, water and a little mint together for flavor? Well, I guess that would make sort of a passable substitute for toothpaste... but why wouldn't you just use toothpaste as toothpaste???
  10. No way I could build the same kit over and over, it would drive me crazy. I'd give up models and start collecting sea shells.
  11. I put them in right away.
  12. Yep. The way it should be. How cool would it be if modern-day NASCAR still worked that way? Answer: Very.
  13. I still say it looks like R2D2!
  14. It's amazing how much "real" wire wheels add to the looks of a model car.
  15. It may not be a GTX, but it's still a good looking car (and model!) BTW... you mentioned that there's no clear on the paint, but with a glass-smooth shine like that, you did polish the paint, right?
  16. About the only "negative" I can see is that the paint flake looks a little out of scale. Otherwise, nothing but positive.
  17. Nicely done!
  18. They're like the clear plastic windows in model kits. I used a cutting disk in my Dremel to cut them out.
  19. What you do is take one or two of the layers and you cut the bottoms out, leaving only the outer "ring." Now you can stack the layers, but you have a deeper (taller) section to fit larger parts.
  20. Is that R2D2 in the passenger seat???
  21. That is spectacular! Beautiful! And the wire wheels are amazing! In case you missed it... I love it!
  22. Alexander... don't worry about all of that. Welcome to the forum. Wilkommen.
  23. Wow! That lighting detail is spectacular! Some of those photos could easily be taken for shots of a real car. Very impressive work!
