  1. That story sounds a little too perfect. True story?
  2. We can't run what we don't have.
  3. Agree that it needs some sponsor decals. But otherwise, very cool and nicely done.
  4. Wow! I've never seen one that wasn't silver! It looks beautiful; the headlights are especially well done. Nice work.
  5. I guess the Beetle was too big to fit on one canvas? Just kidding... On the Nova... did you actually paint that mortar between each brick one by one? That must have taken some time.
  6. Anyone have a comprehensive list of what's available in 1/16 scale?
  7. Aren't the people who make the aftermarket parts the same people that sell the aftermarket parts?
  8. Welcome aboard, Richard!
  9. You've wasted a portion of the time you have on this earth pondering anything regarding DOH?
  10. If the subject mater interests you, I say throw that sorry excuse for a kit in the trash and get the Bandai/Entex version (the one I built).
  11. Remember... do not post any hints or answers here. PM me with year, make and model. The answer: 2008-present Marussia B1
  12. Maybe it's because wood is a natural material while plastic is just a mix of chemicals. I don't know. I can't explain it, but there's just something special about working with wood. At least for us!
  13. Thanks, Curt. I love working with wood. It's a great change of pace from plastic. There's just something about carving and shaping and fitting a wooden part... it's a whole different model building "high" for me. I think you'd like it.
  14. You can do things one of four ways: 1. Provide the forum for free to everyone except the person (or persons) who actually foot the bill. 2. Provide the forum for free to everyone, but solicit contributions (the Public Television method) and hope that the amount contributed covers the actual cost of the forum. It may or it may not. 3. Charge a fee to access the forum. 4. Provide the forum for free to everyone, but run paid ads to offset the cost. Method 1 is the way it's been done since day one. Isn't it great to get free stuff (as long as somebody else is paying for it?). Method 2 is iffy... relying on voluntary contributions won't guarantee that the cost to provide the forum would be covered. Maybe not even close to being covered. Method 3 is also iffy... how much do you charge per membership? Charge too much and you don't get enough members signing up to cover your costs. Charge too little and again, you don't cover your costs. And with paid memberships, how do you keep members in line? After all, they've paid to be a member... you can bet they would demand to be allowed to say whatever they wanted to say, because hey... they paid to be here. Moderating would be a nightmare. Method 4 seems to me at least to be the best choice.
  15. Same here. Age of the kit is irrelevant.
  16. No fee here to use my debit card. It's linked to my checking account... it's just like writing a check without having to bother writing a check.
  17. Sounds like you're being sarcastic. What I meant is that it's very unlikely that a show car would ever have been turned into a gasser or some sort of drag car. It's not a "mistake," since this is your model and you can build it any way you want. But I still say it's an implausible subject. Nicely done... but implausible. Feel free to disagree with me.
  18. Looking good, Niko!
  19. Nice foil work, Rich. But that huge divot on the front edge of the hood?
  20. First off, this is a Charger Daytona, not a Plymouth Superbird. And second... there's actually no such thing as a '71 Superbird in real life.
  21. Not exactly a plausible subject... but very clean and nicely done. (btw... not to be a nag, but it's PREDICTA, not PERDICTA).
