  1. I think we'll be seeing some amazing models from this young man in the coming years. Welcome aboard, both of you!
  2. Makes perfect sense to me.
  3. You're 12? Wow! Your models look better than some guys can manage after building for years!
  4. That's what I was asking... obviously someone knows what the real color of these old tires was... and if they weren't really white, why are all the modern-day reproduction tires pure white? Wouldn't someone have put out a "correct" tire by now?
  5. Whenever you have a collection of different people coming together in one place, you're going to have conflicts. Different people have different personalities, different people have different opinions on just how a forum like this is "supposed" to work. I'd say that overall, we don't have any more "drama" here than any other forum does. Once in a while a particular member will cause trouble, and we deal with that on a case-by-case basis. But just because a tiny handful of people get their kicks by causing a stir here doesn't mean that this forum or the magazine are going away! That would be completely crazy... to let one or two troublemakers run us out of business??? Not going to happen.
  6. Thanks, Art. But why is it that in almost every photo of a restored car from that era with white tires, the tires really are just about white? Are these modern-day reproduction tires all wrong?
  7. The only one I have experience with is #2, and yes, I use the back side of the blade to open panels. Works great.
  8. Nicely done, and nicely detailed. I especially like the "wood" steering wheel.

Nice models. Now all you have to do is figure out how to shoot a photo in focus...
  10. Bright, vibrant colors like that work well on small cars. Nice job! BTW... my oldest daughter has a Focus, so your model scores points with me!
  11. I'm not familiar with that kit, but that's one good looking car.
  12. Same here. That's a new one on me.
  13. Yeah, any of those will be fine!
  14. Easy, big guy. Family forum...
  15. Well, in this case... yeah!
  16. Beautiful work. You're a real craftsman.
  17. Man, that is one slick looking Mopar! Nice! PS: Love the outdoor shots.
  18. How astute of you, old chum! Tally ho!
  19. Yep! For a while, at least. Then I might become Harry Truman. Or Harry Connick. Or Harry Belafonte. or...
  20. If it says Bondo Professional Glazing and Spot Putty, I believe that's the 2-part stuff. And it's great stuff, it's what I use all the time. Mike is right, make sure you are getting the 2-part (hardener + resin) type. One-part putty is nothing but very thick primer and will shrink and crack on you.
  21. Packages came, and now I'm in egg-cellent shape to continue on... I owe both of you a favor.
  22. Ok, I'll go reeeeeeeally sloooooooow so you can follow along. And this is the last time I explain this to you. 1. Looking for a plastic egg. Posted in general, because the "Wanted" section is for specific model kits or model parts, not plastic eggs. You might want to actually read the titles and subtitles of the forum sections so you understand what goes where. I think looking for a plastic egg is more of a "general" question than a "looking for a specific model kit or model part" question. 2. When did Ford switch from black to white tires is a question about an event in the history of the Ford Motor Company that clearly belongs in the "General" section, because it's a general automotive question, NOT a model building question. Again, if you would bother to read the section titles and subtitles this might actually become clear to you. 3. Information I posted in "Where's Waldo" about Bryan M. was posted in "Where's Waldo" because it was a direct answer to a question that someone else asked about Bryan IN THE 'WHERE'S WALDO?" SECTION. Should I have answered his "Where's Waldo" question in the "Under Glass" section??? Did you get that? Did I use small enough words for you? Seriously... if you can't follow along with the tour group, maybe you need to find a simpler forum. I'm tired of your BS and nonsense... I have enough to do dealing with stuff here without you constantly yapping at me.
  23. Maybe you guys from outside the US can work a deal. Have a forum member buy the paint for you, and then they ship the paint to you.
  24. Dr. Cranky would be proud! The rust perforations around the wheelwells and along the rockers are very well done. And I love the missing trim strip pieces aith the mounting holes exposed. Nice job.
