  1. I've been thinking about this a long time, no snap decision. Why should drag and NASCAR guys get special treatment? Why don't customs have their own special area? Or street rod? Show cars? Rat rods? Beaters? Tuners? Lowriders? and on and on. Seems odd to me that only Drag and NASCAR get their own special area, but nobody else does.
  2. Won't work that way because we already have a separate Trucks section that's not going to go away, so no combining cars and trucks. We had this whole "we want a separate Truck section" conversation a long time ago... that's why model cars have their section and model trucks have their section. If we were to have just one section for cars and trucks and "other" models, your suggestion would be the way to go... but it's been decided that cars and trucks and "all the rest" should each get their own dedicated area of the forum. What I'm talking about is reconfiguring just the model cars section, not touching any other areas.
  3. I like a forward-looking member!
  4. I want to delete the Drag and NASCAR categories altogether. Then I would like to rework the Model Cars Workbench and Under Glass categories like this: On the Workbench: Stock, Street Rod/Hot Rod, Show/Custom Under Glass: Stock, Street Rod/Hot Rod, Show/Custom On the Workbench; Competition (NASCAR, Drag, F1, Indy, dirt track, etc.) Under Glass: Competition (NASCAR, Drag, F1, Indy, dirt track, etc.) I never understood why we have a "generic" Workbench and Under Glass section where I assume all types of model cars can go, but then we also have separate areas for only two specific types of car models in addition to "On the Workbench" and "Under Glass."
  5. Not only is the photo not of the model in the box, they didn't even get the text on the box right. It says "Hot Trucks," whatever that means... then the French "translation." which you can see they list as "Camions gonflés." Except that "Camions gonflés" actually means "Inflated Trucks!"
  6. It says "Retouched Photo of Actual Model," which is technically true. It's a retouched photo of an actual model...but it doesn't say that that actual model is the same one that's in the box! For a company that keeps pulling scams like this seemingly over and over, that would probably be their "defense," as shady as that is.
  7. They let anyone run anything, and put the AMT logo on the box?
  8. How about this one? Real or model? The answer: MODEL!
  9. How do they get away with a stunt like that???
  10. Wait a minute! Are you saying that the model in the box doesn't include any of the dirt track parts? The model can NOT be built as a dirt track car as shown on the box? If that's true, that's more than a "mistake." That's flat-out fraud.
  11. Once again... this is not a tip, trick or tutorial, it's a QUESTION. So I moved it to the... wait for it... QUESTION and answer section! Crazy, right?
  12. No... Just making an example. The picture on the box should be an accurate portrayal of what's in the box... dishes, model kits, whatever.
  13. Thank you, Bill!
  14. Front overhang is a bit too short, but otherwise a good looker.
  15. Nice! And a great price!
  16. There's no excuse for companies putting graphics on the box top that do not accurately portray what's inside. Period. How would you feel if you bought a set of dishes, say... because you liked the pattern shown on the box, but the pattern on the dishes in the box was completely different?
  17. Provenance. Providence is the capital of Rhode Island.
  18. Hey! That's very cool! I didn't know 3-D files could be saved as a PDF.
  19. With so many Batmobiles floating around, it's going to get harder and harder to figure out which one is the "real" one.
  20. “Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.” -Jack Handey, "Deep Thoughts"
  21. There's a big difference between a model builder claiming his creation is a "gasser" and a model manufacturer claiming their kit is a "gasser." The manufacturer should do their homework. How many gassers had exhaust headers and a street exhaust system???!!!
