  1. I wish you the best.
  2. You can be sure the model companies will keep on reissuing old kits. The tooling was paid for long ago, and any new sales an old reissued kit can bring is almost all profit.
  3. Styling always matters. Most people buy a car based on styling to some degree, many buy a car based almost completely on styling. Yeah, the Corvette is a performance car, but it's also traditionally been "different" from the rest of the Chevy lineup (if not 100% mechanically different, at least different in "spirit"). I know, that sounds a little vague, but part of Corvette's appeal over the years has been its uniqueness, and lately it has become less unique. Back in the day, a Corvette would never have been mistaken for any other car. Same as with a Jaguar E-type... instantly recognizable as something unique. It was a very distinctive car. Today it's looking more and more like a lot of other high-end performance/sports cars and has lost it's "Corvette-ness" (there's that word again!). So sharing a major styling theme with the current Camaro seems to go against the idea of a Corvette as being something special. At least that's my take on it.
  4. Corvette is an icon. Why on earth would the big brains at GM think that "sharing" taillights with the Camaro is a good idea? Shouldn't a car as distinctive as a Corvette remain distinctive and apart from the "regular" Chevy lineup? I think so. Corvette has already become way too Ferrari-ish looking as it is, and has lost its unique "Corvette-ness" to some degree, like it used to have. Now they decide to tack on a Camaro rear end? Why?
  5. Steering wheels and stereos have nothing to do with exterior styling.
  6. And backwards.
  7. Corvette has always been Chevrolet's "halo car"... no reason to make it look like "part of the family." For all the years it's been in production it's never looked like any other car Chevy sells or shared any typical Chevy styling cues. Why start now? Corvette should have its own distinct styling, IMO, and not be sharing Camaro styling cues. I'm guessing the typical Corvette buyer wants his car to stand apart from the "lesser" Chevies.
  8. It's streaming live on youtube right now! Springsteen and Bon Jovi on stage.
  9. The concert tonight is apparently a different concert than the one I saw on TV weeks ago. The one I saw had Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen, among others.
  10. Nice weathering!
  11. Ok, but it has to be a rerun. Like I said, I saw it on TV several weeks ago, right after Sandy happened.
  12. Tonight? That concert was on TV here weeks ago. Are you sure it's on tonight?
  13. I heard somewhere that the Mayans just made a typo.
  14. There's one very simple answer to the question: If the manufacturer, after taking everything into account (demand, condition of the tooling, etc.) thinks there's a profit to be had by re-issuing a certain model kit, they will reissue it. And if they don't think there's a profit to be had, they won't reissue it. It's not any more complicated than that. The bottom line for a model company, like any business, is profit (as it should be!)
  15. And apparently not working very hard, eh?
  16. Nice work on converting the convertible interior!
  17. Yeah, good luck with that...
  18. Tomorrow is "Century Day." (yeah, it's a new holiday I just invented!) Nothing like that will happen again for a looooooooooooooooooong time. Seems like it should be some sort of day off...
  19. This doesn't have anything to do with anything... but tomorrow is 12-12-12. That won't happen again this century. So should we call it "Century Day" and celebrate?
  20. Too cool! Now put that into a body shop diorama!
  21. Sorry to hear that you can't build much anymore, but you can still be a part of the hobby by being an active forum member! There's more than one way to participate in this hobby.
  22. What happened to the dash gauges on the blue one???
