  1. Forum rule: Full (real) name in your signature. I assume you did read the rules before you signed on?
  2. One of my all-time favorite planes.
  3. Are you looking to buy as a collector or a builder? Because if you're a builder, whether the shrinkwrap is original or not doesn't make any difference.
  4. Different paint brands will have different names for that color. "Ivory" might be one to look for.
  5. Jaguar has made some nice looking cars over the years. My all time favorite is the original E-Type (1961?). After that they got progressively worse... federal bumpers, stamped steel wheels instead of wires, lost the cool headlight covers, etc. The original is the best one, IMO.
  6. Yes, I'd say that one definitely deserves a display case!
  7. I think Skip's original question about how to PM someone has been answered.
  8. Cool! And nice models, too, BTW...
  9. Go Skip, go! Gotta say my chardonnay is going down smoothly right now... Every moderator has his real name listed in his posts.
  10. To send a PM all you have to do is hold your mouse over the person's screen name for a second and you get a pop-up menu that includes a "Send Message" button. Like this:
  11. Just a reminder that this section is for automotive art.
  12. That thread wasn't deleted by me... so I can't tell you why it was deleted. Whenever I lock a thread, I try to make a last post explaining why I did it. Other mods may have a different approach. If you want an explanation on why that particular thread was deleted I suggest you PM the other mod(s). A "suggestions and feedback" area would be ok by me. And now I'm locking this thread. Reason: Because I answered Darin's initial question, and I answered your questions, and I sense nothing but trouble ahead if I leave this open.
  13. Darin, I have been working with Gregg for a long time to resolve this issue.
  14. I'm not arguing with you, I was just curious, since 99% of PC people use some version of MS Windows. As for me, I don't use Windows at all, I'm Mac all the way and have been from day 1. So Windows vs. Linux doesn't even apply.
  15. The car in the photo is 1954 BMW 502. The car was introduced in 1951 as the 501 (6 cylinder) and a few years later became the 502 (8 cylinder). 501s and 502s looked pretty much alike on the outside (the chrome trim along the sides below the windows means 502). Since the car was built for more than 10 years, and called different names along the way, I got a lot of different answers that could all be considered "right," I guess. Sort of. So a lot of people get credit, even though they weren't exactly right. 16. I usually don't think much of the huge blingy wheel look, but it works in this case. They give the car a modern twist without being too garish or over the top. Interior is cool. Nice work.
  17. So why use it? What does it do that a PC or Mac OS can't do?
  18. So what do you use? I'm not aware of any computers out there that you can buy that don't come with either one or the other. What else is there? Did you build your computer in your garage or something???
  19. You can do that. The only difference is that if you do it that way, your pictures here will appear as small thumbnails that you have to click on to see them full size... if you upload from a fotki or photobucket account the pictures appear here full size. But you can upload directly from your computer. No reason why not.
  20. You'll find out FRIDAY!
  21. Posting pictures: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52417 Avatar has to be a jpeg, max. size 200x200 pixels.
