  1. I have a bottle that I bought several YEARS ago... not much left in it, but what's still there is still as clear as the day I bought it.
  2. Remember: Don't post any hints or answers here. PM me with year, make and model. The answer: 1899 Columbia Landaulet (electric)
  3. Your photos are sideways! Turn them the right way...
  4. Yeah, we got our share of "righteous indignation" for that article... but IMO (and Gregg's)... it was misplaced. We both believe (as do most of you guys, I think) that the material used does not define what is or is not a "model." To say that anything other than a styrene kit is not a model is crazy. And even though there are those people who actually think that way, their numbers are pretty small. Most of us agree that the material used is irrelevant to whether or not a model is a "real" model.
  5. There's nothing wrong with the PM system. You may have your preferences set wrong, though. On your "My Settings" page, click on "Notification Options" om the left side list. Scroll down to near the bottom and you'll see "Private Messages" with a checkbox that says "Show inline pop-up when I have new personal messages (latest will be shown)" (along with options to be sent an email whenever you get a PM and a few other options). If you click that check box, you'll get an on-screen pop-up of any new PM every time you log onto the forum. If you don't have that checkbox clicked, you would have to manually go and check for new PMs, and if you never bother to manually check for new PMs, obviously you'll never see any new PMs. There's nothing wrong with the forum... you just have to make sure you have your preferences set up correctly.
  6. If you think that's bad, try dropping a grand on a Pocher kit with as many, if not more, "issues" as a typcal MFH kit. Hmmm.... maybe I am crazy after all...
  7. Yeah, I'd rank Alex right up there among the "heavy hitters" of builders. He can sure turn out a beautiful Ferrari! And a lot of his craftsmanship goes unseen in the finished models, yet he doesn't skimp when it comes to those areas.
  8. Oh, we have a psychic in the house?
  9. The "spelling Nazi" in me asked that I inform you that the phrase is "Hear ye, hear ye..." as in "listen up, people," not "you are here"...
  10. oh oh.... another Danno.
  11. After thinking about it, I deleted my previous post. As far as using a respirator while painting, better to be safe than sorry, as the old saying goes.
  12. I think you need to re-read your own post...
  13. Different grilles, different taillights. Different enough that if you want to be accurate you can't fake a 69 with a 68 or vice versa. Do a google search and you'll see...
  14. Navistar/Mahindra (India) collaboration: http://www.4btswaps.com/forum/showthread.php?12497-new-mahindra-navistar-cabover-trucks-in-india
  15. How is it possible to be a lurker and a high post count poster at the same time?
  16. Looks like 100/100 is the highest rating. http://www.cdc.gov/n...tors/disp_part/
  17. I remember Riverview, my parents took me there when I was just a little kid. My high school is right next to where Riverview was... if you were in a room on the south side of the school you could see right into Riverview... it was literally right next door. BTW... I just got in from shoveling about half a foot of snow. All of you guys east of me... coming your way!
  18. Thanks! We try! And apologies to Chuck... the Hudson will be in 165. Guaranteed.
  19. I never did like the looks of that car too much... Like the Monkees, though!
  20. You better believe it! Years from now you'll see MCM #164 selling on ebay for BIG bucks... The "lost cover" issue... It's investment-grade, folks!
  21. Your personal life is none of our business...
  22. Chuck made the cover... but he... uh... didn't quite make the inside! What happened: We got the iHobby coverage from Bill Coulter after we had already put 164 into production, but we decided that we really should include the iHobby story... because we wanted to run it as soon as possible. That meant something had to be bumped to make room for the iHobby story. So we decided to move Chuck's Hudson feature to 165 (where it will be seen). I did a revised cover, for 164, taking out Chuck's Hudson and replacing it with a blurb about iHobby coverage. Unfortunately... somehow the revised cover didn't get to our production people in time... so 164 ran with the "old" cover with Chuck's Hornet on it instead of the revised cover with the iHobby blurb. What does this all mean? Chuck's Hudson will be in issue 165... and 164 will probably be a huge collector's item in the future, so get it while you can!
  23. Well, you guys were too smart this time! Final vote: 63 REAL, only 9 MODEL. And it's REAL!
  24. I don't see how we are supposed to tell you how to build your kit. That's your decision.
