  1. Not a truck modeler by any means, but man, that is nice! BTW... I sent you a PM several days ago. No answer. Did you get it???
  2. This has turned into a very interesting (and educational) thread!
  3. I like it! The weathered/faded paint looks cool.
  4. Looks good so far. I'm curious to see how your body weathering turns out.
  5. When I joined this forum I was told there would be no math...
  6. ok, I think I get it. Volume is three-dimensional, not two-dimensional.
  7. Wow... that's so counter intuitive. Not arguing with you... I just find it hard to get the concept that 1/25 of the original does not weigh 1/25 of the original. So if a gallon of water weighs 8 pounds (just a guess)... don't 10 gallons weigh 80 pounds and vice versa?
  8. Same concept as putting $3500 worth of custom wheels on a car that's worth $500.
  9. ok, I'm confused. Say I have a square block of steel, one cubic foot (1 ft. x 1 ft. x 1 ft.) and let's say for the sake of argument that it weighs 25 pounds. Are you saying that if I had a smaller block of steel exactly 1/25 the size of the bigger one, that it wouldn't weigh 1 pound?
  10. How about this one? Real or model? The answer: REAL!
  11. I had a feeling someone was going to mention that!
  12. We had a kid in third grade named Kevlar. He got beat up a lot...
  13. How do you change the front tires???
  14. I've heard of filling the tubing with fine sand. Unlike slipping solder inside, even after a fairly tight bend the sand will always just pour out... but sometimes the solder or wire that you slipped in before the bend will be impossible to pull out.
  15. Don't all the parts eventually get glued together?
  16. Call me crazy, but I do NOT paint the insides of engine block halves...
  17. Different states have different laws. In some cases they have what I think are called "secondary" laws, where the cop can only cite you if he's already pulled you over for a more serious offense, like speeding. Here where I live, you're technically supposed to have a front license plate, but I'm pretty sure they can't pull you over if you don't have one... they can only cite you for no front plate if you're already pulled over for something else. Maybe tinted glass is also one of those types of things in some states.
  18. Tinted windows (aftermarket) are illegal not for any driver safety issues, but because the cops can't see inside the vehicle if they pull you over. I can see their point... if the guy the cop just pulled over is sitting there with a pistol in his hand, the cop might want to able to see that and act accordingly.
  19. I like the look of the wide whites... very retro-cool!
  20. Hallelujah! And I might add, you did a beautiful job. And that engine detailing is impressive!
  21. Another thread that ceased being relevant many posts ago...
  22. Well, if this isn't the most rambling, off-topic thread I've ever seen, it sure must be in the Top Ten.
