  1. It also says on the box that LEDs use 75% less energy than a typical light bulb, so a nice "side effect!" I don't know if it's really true, but with "truth in packaging" laws I guess they couldn't say it if it wasn't so.
  2. I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't work without good light. My old magnifier lamp conked out yesterday (it had one of those round flourescent bulbs and the ballast went bad)... so I went online to find something new. I got an LED magnifier lamp, and wow! What a difference! I don't know if it's just me, but the light put out by this lamp seems much more "comfortable" to my eyes than my old flourescent lamp. It has a more "daylight" type color cast to it, it puts out no heat at all, and the LEDs supposedly will last 35 times as long as a typical light bulb. (We'll see about that, but even if they last only 10x longer it's still a good deal). Anyway... if you're looking for a new desk lamp, be sure to check out the LED type, in person at the store if possible. I think you'll like it. This is the one I got (model #420036), but there are many other ones out there in a wide price range: http://www.officedep...amp&type=Search
  3. Since Moebius is apparently a model company that listens to us... How about the long awaited but "never-yet-seen-as-a-plastic-full-detail-kit" of the Tucker Torpedo? Hmmmm???
  4. That's another Moebius home run!
  5. Thanks, Wayne. I really appreciate your comments.
  6. 1/24 means 1/24th the size of the original. 1/24th of a foot is 1/2 inch, so in 1/24 scale a "foot" is 1/2 inch. 1/48 means 1/48th the size of the original (or half the size of 1/24). So in 1/48 scale, a "foot" is 1/4 inch. Every scale model (1/8, 1/32, 1/12, etc.) is a specific fractional size of the original. A 1/8 scale model is one eighth the size of the original, a 1/32 scale model is one thirty-second the size of the original, a 1/12 scale model is one twelfth the size of the original, etc.
  7. On the forum side of things I'd like to thank all of the members who have made positive contributions here... either by posting their work, or by posting tips and suggestions to help others, or just by posting interesting and fun stuff that we can all enjoy. And especially to all of you that have not made the job of moderator any harder than it has to be! On the magazine side, thanks to all of you that have contributed material for publication. We are a small operation, we don't have "staff writers"... we rely on contributions from "regular people," including many of you forum members. If it wasn't for you guys who submit material, we'd be putting out a blank magazine every month!
  8. Maybe it's the wife you need to get rid of!!!
  9. Thinking out of the box! Way to go!
  10. Nice idea to open the trunk. I hope you don't mind a suggestion, though. It's too late on this one, but if you build another Charger in the future, you need to make those trunk hinge "loops" a lot smaller.

  12. Remember... don't post any hints or answers here. PM me with year, make and model. The answer: 1970 Monteverdi "High Speed" 375/4 Sedan
  13. Guys, thanks for the thumbs up... but talking trash about the "other" forum doesn't do anyone any good. We are what we are, they are what they are. Different philosophies, but it's comparing apples and oranges. Everyone has to decide for themselves which of the two forums, if any, is a better fit. They don't trash talk over there about MCM (as far as I know)... and we shouldn't do it to them. Live and let live.
  14. What if you had a car that was going faster than the speed of light... and you turned the headlights on. Would they go on???
  15. Hey Moebius... are you listening?
  16. Drain holes under the transmission tailshaft???
  17. What's up with all those holes in the chassis???
  18. The glass unit looks like it has the headliner molded in place... so what's the problem with ejector pin marks on the underside of the roof? The glass unit hides them.
  19. Thanks!
  20. There's something to be said for consistency...
