  1. Man, I love those! Too cool! I can't decide which one I Iike better... ok, I decided I like them both!
  2. Crooks and deadbeats!
  3. If I add a third choice, "Not Sure," you guys could all be right every time!
  4. There everywhere! Ugly cars are a dime a dozen, there are far more ugly ones than good looking ones! And this one isn't even so bad. You should see what I come across when I do my Auto ID searches!
  5. Dr. Cranky must be proud! The weathering and the small details like the missing trim rings is perfect. Very cool job.
  6. Wow! Spectacular! And those seats... they look so real! Very nice work.
  7. I just wanted to apologize, not cause even more problems! I'll lock this now, and it'll be the last of it you hear from me.
  8. Thanks, Mike. I appreciate your understanding. The thing I have to work at is remembering that as a moderator, I have a responsibility to avoid controversy. So I can't just spout off whenever I feel like it. Lesson learned.
  9. Ok... then how do you feel about the Green Hornet and Cato? (or is that Kato?)
  10. Several people have given me an earful regarding my comments on the Dan Wheldon thread, so I think I need to say something (the thread is locked, but it's still there if anyone wants to see what I said). Obviously my comments offended some of you. I've received emails and PMs from both former and current members, and it's not been pretty. One current member has even said he's quitting the forum because of what I said. So for the record, I want to apologize to everyone who was offended by my comments. In hindsight, I would have been much smarter to not post my opinion. Sometimes it's better to keep one's opinion to oneself, and this was one of those times. Believe me, in all the years I've been a moderator here, my goal has been to try to avoid trouble, not to cause it! So for causing this uproar, I'm sorry. It was not my intent to "stir the pot," or to cause a problem, but obviously, that's what happened, and for that I'm sorry. However, I want to be clear on one thing: I'm not apologizing for my opinion. I'm apologizing for the fact that I should have known better and kept my mouth shut, rather than post a controversial opinion that was sure to get people riled up. I should have known better, and I'm sorry about that. Being a mod is tricky... I have opinions just like the rest of you do, but for the sake of the forum I need to remember that posting my opinion is not always a good idea.
  11. But of course! But then again... is the world ready for Cranky in Spandex???
  12. I had no idea you two were working together! Fantastic job! You two make quite the modeling tag team! (I see a magazine feature here... the "Dynamic Duo"...)
  13. I'll have to make sure that I'm sure next time!
  14. Remember, no hints or answers here. PM me with year, make and model. The answer: 1990 Puma AMV
  15. Well, let's see if I can explain myself. First of all, cops and firemen are different from face car drivers. Cops and firemen risk their lives every day in order to protect the rest of us. Race car drivers, and others who do dangerous stuff like skydiving, take a risk not to benefit me or society in general... they take risks for their own personal excitement, or to feed their own personal need for thrills. Now, I'm not saying that a race car driver is a bad guy. I'm not saying he doesn't have every right to put his life on the line, if that's what he wants to do, because he does have that right. If he's willing to risk death in exchange for getting his kicks, more power to him. Who am I to say that he's wrong? And I'm not saying that he "got what he deserved," or anything like that. Obviously, his death is not a good thing in any way. But I can't really get too shook up about a guy who died because he chose to live a risky lifestyle for nothing more than his own personal satisfaction. He knew the risks, he did it anyway, and he paid the price. Sure it's sad, sure it was a terrible tragedy. Just don't ask me to cry for him. I don't know if that makes any sense, but it's just how I feel.
  16. Interesting replies, guys... thanks.
  17. I guess I'm in the minority here, but it's hard to have a lot of sympathy for the guy. I mean, the possibility of dying in a crash is a big part of racing, and everyone who races is taking that risk voluntarily. I know, I know... I sound like a heartless jerk, but people who intentionally choose dangerous and risky activities (racing, rock climbing, skydiving, etc.) know the risk they're taking... but they do it anyway. I don't know... does that make me a heartless jerk?
  18. Nice to see this model being built up in so many different ways!
  19. How about a photo of the finished product? Channels chromed, wood stained and poly-ed...
  20. Since the chat room seems to be a sore subject with some of you, I think I'll lock this before anything happens. Basically I was wondering about the chat room boycott, and Dave gave me the answer.
  21. A lot of those topics (and the chat room itself) got locked or deleted for a reason: some people were acting like jerks, disregarding the rules and basically causing problems, purposely. And unfortunately, those people screwed it up for everyone else (yes, unfairly so). But apparently Gregg has decided to give the chat room another chance. I suggest maybe you guys who like having a chat feature start to use it before it goes away again... for good. I don't have any opinion of it one way or another, but for you guys who like it... it's there for you now. Use it or lose it...
  22. The link doesn't work.
  23. I just now logged on. Works fine. I have no idea why you're having a problem, but it's obviously not Photobucket that's the problem.
  24. So if all of you chat room regulars have "moved on," there's not much point in keeping it open here.
  25. I just uploaded a photo about 10 minutes ago. Worked fine.
