Everyone knows that there's no milk or bowl in the cereal box. And they do have that "Serving Suggestion" disclaimer for anyone who is so lacking in brain cells that they thought the milk, bowl and spoon were in the box... And yes, they have the "unassembled plastic model kit, requires assembly, paint and cement not included, blah, blah, blah" disclaimer on the box... But if the model photographed for the cover has parts on it that are not inside the box, how is the consumer supposed to know that? Isn't putting a photo on the box of a model that can not be built as shown by using what comes in the box a form of false advertising or fraud?

I've spent more than that on aftermarket goodies for just one model! I guess the amount of $$$ we spend on the hobby varies a lot!

Most adult modelers who have been active in the hobby for many years can't possibly estimate how much they've spent over the years...unless they were so totally anal that they saved every receipt! I would guess that the average guy who's been active in the hobby for 10, 20, 30 or more years would have spent enough by now to have paid for a new car, at least. Maybe more. Maybe a lot more.

Oh yeah, BIG time! Dave Wannstedt used to be the Bears' head coach, he's from Pennsylvania. His accent was very noticeable every time he gave a press conference (I mean, cawnference!) I think Chris Matthews from CNBC is also from there. He says "A MUHR icans" instead of "A MARE icans." Yep, you Pensylvania people have a definite accent... But then again, we all have an accent to someone who's from somewhere else. (Although I'll never get used to having to "paaaahk my caaaah" when I'm in "Baaaa-stin."

Odd business decision if you ask me. Moebius made the initial investment in tooling up and manufacturing the Hudson kit. They've taken all the risk, and stand to gain whatever rewards come their way. And that's how the game is played, I get that. But seeing as the NASCAR version is basically nothing more than a different decal sheet and new box art (ok, a handful of actual plastic, but you get the point... the NASCAR version is 99% the existing "stock" version), if I were running Moebius I'd sell a NASCAR version of the kit myself, under my own brand name; especiallly since I've basically already taken the financial risk anyway and selling a NASCAR version would cost very little extra. Even if it sold poorly, there's not any substantial extra investment needed to sell a NASCAR version when I already have the stock version paid for. In other words, not a whole lot to lose and possibly a lot of sales to gain. Why sell the kits to Model King at a cheap price and let M.K. make the profit? Again, Moebius must have seen a financial advantage in agreeing to this deal, but I just don't see it.

I always assumed that when someone says "Merc," they're referring to a Mercury. I've never hears of a Mercedes being called a "Merc." Maybe I'm not up on the hip lingo you kids are using these days...

I've always known it to be pronounced "pa-SHAY." (short a on the first syllable). I've heard that Tamiya is pronounced "ta-mee-yah," and like Skip said, no emphasis on any syllable. Revell is "reh-VELL." Don't even get me started on people who pronounce Porsche as "porsh." Or someone who says they drive an "AW-dee." And the correct pronunciation of BMW is "bay em vay." (Ask a German, they'll tell ya!)

That's another deal that I don't understand. What benefit does Moebius get by letting their NASCAR Hudson be sold as a "Model King" kit? If Model King paid Moebius a lump sum for X amount of kits, then resells them under the "Model King" brand at a higher per unit price (in order to make a profit on the deal), why would Moebius not simply sell their NASCAR Hudson under their own brand in the first place? I guess I don't see how Moebius benefits by having their NASCAR Hudson sold under the "Model King" brand, no matter how the deal was structured. Obviously they do benefit somehow or they wouldn't have made the deal, but I sure can't figure out how.
