OK... I don't build military or armor stuff, but I do know that most military/armor kits (land-based vehicles) are made in 1/35 scale. How in the world did such an oddball scale become the "standard" for military/armor kits? Why not 1/32, a common scale for model cars? Why not 1/24 or 1/25? Why 1/35?

Yes, that's true... but you have to admit we're pretty tolerant here compared to some sites. Heck, we even let you guys mention the "other magazine" and their forum by name! You're not going to find a more open and tolerant model car forum than this one.

That's not a bad idea whether you have "normal" grip strength or not. You might want to add a few layers of masking tape to the jaws so that whatever you clamp down on doesn't get damaged.

Or... don't mess with stretching sprue at all and just use thread for the rigging. MUCH easier.

Yes it was. The static kit originally sold for $1.49 and the motorized version was $2.49. And obviously the tooling was such that it was made to accommodate the electric motor and batteries needed for the motorized version, so a few compromises to detail were made. Wow.... those prices show you how old this kit really is!

The fact that a Hudson has never been kitted before in 1/24 or 1/25 scale would suggest to me that there are a lot of people who are going to jump on this one when it comes out. Aside from maybe a Tucker, this choice of subject matter seems like a no-brainer to me. What amazes me is not that Moebius chose a Hudson kit to produce, but that nobody has ever done one before!

How do you balance a Lego engine???

Bare Metal foil. The guy in the video uses WAY too big a piece, but the technique is ok. All you need is a piece slightly larger than the area you want to cover.

I guess. And I also guess that it was glued together and not just friction-fit.

Somebody is going to have to explain to me how a model engine made of plastic can "run" for that long at that speed without the heat and friction melting everything into one big blob.
