  1. Or glue it on crooked, maybe???
  2. Real or model? The answer: REAL!
  3. That's not even close to what I said.
  4. A "#11" is an X-acto blade... the triangular shaped one we all use. He's talking about the decals along the side of the body. It's all one piece and goes over the door seam, which of course would never happen in the real world. What you should do next time a decal crosses a seam is to cut the decal along the seam after it's applied, so that when it dries there is a tiny gap at the seam... just as there would be in real life.
  5. You're right on the money there. Some people just don't have the raw talent that others do, and you can't learn talent. It's like playing an instrument. Almost anyone can learn how to strum a guitar, but there are only a few Jimmy Pages and Jimi Hendrixes out there. Innate talent is something you either have or you don't. Like they say in baseball... you can't teach speed.
  6. Why would you say that? Sharing our opinions is exactly what this place is all about! Don't ever feel like you shouldn't express your opinions.
  7. Like I said, it's not that people don't care about lesser detailed models... it's just that there's literally much less to comment on! A fully detailed model, with tons of underhood detail, PE, superdetailed chassis, etc. simply has more going on than a simple OOB buildup, and therefore there's a lot more to comment on. Again, you can't compare the two, they're really two very different styles of building. Both are equally legitimate.
  8. That's because the super-detailed models have a lot more to comment on. There's more to them, so naturally they'll tend to get more comments than a simple box-stock model. You can't compare the two, they're apples and oranges.
  9. Nice model, but I agree that the USPS should continue to use vehicles made in the US!
  10. My wife (ex-wife, actually) never complained about my model building. But she complained about everything else!!!
  11. Are you suggesting dusting off the old computer hammer?
  12. A few of the "skins" have glitches, it's a problem with this site's software. I use "IP Board" and have had no problems.
  13. The site works fine for the rest of us, so odds are the problem is on your end. Try downloading and installing Firefox, and try the site using it. If that fixes the problem, then problem solved... and if not, well, you've lost nothing except a few minutes of your time. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
  14. Any ballpark estimate as to how many kits would need to sell in order to break even? Hundreds? Thousands? That figure would help to decide whether this could actually be a viable project or just a pipe dream.
  15. If you're the type of guy who likes to challenge himself, and wants to expand your skills with every model, that's great. And if you're one of those guys who is perfectly happy building at whatever level you build at... if you have no desire to take it to the proverbial "next level," that's great, too. This is a hobby, so however you enjoy the hobby–whatever level you are at–whether you push yourself or not–as long as you're having fun, you're doing it right.
  16. Just a guess here, but it can't hurt to try: Under the "Explorer" dropdown menu at upper left, click on "Preferences," then on "Web Browser," then on "Advanced," then where it says "Cache" click "Once per Session" or "Always." Make sure "Never" is NOT selected. Like I said, just a guess... but worth a shot. Or try downloading a better browser, like Firefox. Explorer is weird.
  17. A few more...
  18. So far I've PM'd about 150 members who don't have their whole name in their signature. So far. (I PM them as I see them). Apparently there are a whole lot of people who didn't bother to read the rules that they agreed to when they signed on! I wonder if these are the same people that would sign a contract without reading it???
  19. The Rommel's Rod skeletons are missing a bunch of bones!
  20. 1/8 scale Daytona or Superbird. Come on, guys... make modeling history.
  21. Glad to see you finally ditched the "lurker" thing and have come on board!
  22. I never log out... every time I come to the site I'm already in.
  23. So which is it? GT or GTA?
