Absolutely. I told him if I ever have any further roof problems, he will be the first guy I call.

I'm very impressed with your level of detail, like the drilled header flanges, for example... and so much more. Exceptional work.

I scratchbuilt the base on the San Francisco cable car... I guess I could do the same here! -
Ok... so I bought the renewal sticker online just now... I figured it's much easier to do it that way than stand in line at the DMV. But of course, Illinois being what it is, they charge you a fee if you buy the sticker online. I was privileged enough to pay Illinois a $2.35 "convenience fee" for the pleasure of sending them $101 for a new sticker. But that's ok. I know they will put that money to good use...

Do you think that at some point down the road... waaaaaaaay down the road... that you might actually finish this one? I think the Great Wall of China was built in less time...

Never underestimate the stupidity of the American voter.

Ok, since I post a lot on the "irked" thread, in fairness I have to also report the good stuff. I had a leak where the plumbing vent stack comes out of the roof. The attic in my house is unfinished... the "floor" of the attic is actually the drywall ceilings of the rooms below. The "boot" around the vent stack was leaking, and the water was dripping down onto the attic "floor," which is actually the ceiling (of the master bedroom, in this case). So I called a local roofer (I like to deal with local businesses whenever possible)... initially he said sorry, he was so swamped with work that he couldn't take on my job. I thanked him and tried several other contractors. But later that day, he called back and told me that he would squeeze me in if I was home that day (I was). He came, he inspected the roof, and he sealed the joint where the vent stack comes out of the roof. But not only that... he also inspected and re-sealed the vent stack on the back side of the house (the kitchen vent), and he inspected and resealed the chimney seal. All of this on his own time, not asked for by me. And in the end, he charged me exactly what he quoted me just to check the first vent stack. And BTW... his price was extremely fair. I would even say cheap. And he did the second vent stack and the chimney seal for free. Yes, there still are honest, good people out there. And I was lucky to find one.

Yet another example of the wretched state Illinois is in, thanks to our politicians... Used to be that you would get a renewal form in the mail when your license plate sticker was close to expiration. You signed the form, enclosed your check, and mailed it off to Springfield... and a week or two later your new sticker came in the mail. Simple, painless. Well, because of the state's budget crisis (caused entirely by the state's corrupt and inept politicians), the Secretary of State's office no longer mails out those renewal forms, in order to save a few bucks. So now the onus is on the driver to know when his sticker is up for renewal. They never told us of this change... never a word about how the driver now has to keep tabs on his renewal date and buy the new sticker. So you can guess what happened. Millions of people, who had relied on the mailed renewal forms all these years, suddenly were caught with expired license plates! And you know what comes next... Illinois has collected a record amount of overdue license fines, due to people simply not realizing that they are no longer getting their renewals in the mail.

Nothing burns me more than two semis rolling along side by side, holding up everyone behind them. They are supposed to stay in one lane, unless passing. You'd think that "professional" drivers would know better.

Regarding Detroit and the auto industry... Keep in mind that Detroit has been governed by crooks for many years, and that has nothing to do with the auto industry. Corrupt politicians who were badly mismanaging–even literally stealing–public funds played a big part in Detroit's collapse. I know what I'm talking about, because the same exact scenario is playing out here in Chicago.

Beautifully done! Love that color! And very clever with the front turn signals! But may I suggest a black wash on the hubcaps to bring out the details and tone done the "model" look? (and fix that big ding on the center bar of the grille)...
-
That's some pretty impressive work. But of course, seeing as how you are the modeler, that's to be expected. You set the bar high... and you don't disappoint.

TJ&S were one of my favorites back in the day.

Awww... I was gonna say that!

Tulio... in my mind, not many cars better looking than a '67 Galaxie. Just absolutely gorgeous!
-
Oh, yeah! But I like the '67 even better. Back in the day, my uncle had one. White, with a blood-red interior. What a beautiful car... I remember it to this day!
-
Absolutely beautiful. And as always, your foil work is first rate. For all the great Hudson kits you've built and posted here, I think Moebius owes you a huge thank you. I don't think there's a better spokesman out there for the Moebius Hudson kits than you. Yet another home run.
-
No way I can argue with you, Tulio. It's all personal preference... no "right," no "wrong."

I'm actually a north sider, geographically... but a south sider as far as my baseball team. Go Sox!

Art is correct on the Futura's color... it was an "ice blue"... sort of a bluish-white pearl. Then it was painted a bright red for its appearance in a couple of movies. And after that, of course, it was transformed into the TV Batmobile. But as the Futura it was never painted green.

I did. In post #1.
