  1. I use a strip of aluminum duct tape for the "clamp" and glue a short bit of aluminum wire onto the "clamp" for the screw barrel. It's true, you don't get the slots in the clamp that way, but in 1/25 scale, does it really matter???
  2. Flash is that "extra" bit of plastic that sometimes appears along the edges of some parts. It's caused when the two halves of the mold don't close completely tight, and some of the molten plastic oozes into the joint between the mold surfaces.
  3. I think that first photo could have actually fooled some people in "Real or Model"...
  4. You can do whatever you need to do to find the answer!
  5. Rules: DO NOT post your answer here! Obviously, if you do, that pretty much ruins it for anyone else who wants to play. I need the model year, make and model name (all 3) in order for you to get credit for being right. Send your answer to me via PM or email me at harrypri@att.net. Make sure you give me your screen name so I can give you credit if your answer is correct. The answer: 1930 Ruxton Model C
  6. I agree with Toonces. Oh well... new one coming tomorrow, or maybe later today.
  7. Uh.... you did understand that if you give the answer here, it ruins it for everyone else??? Which is why I specifically asked you to NOT post the answer here, or any hints, but to PM or email me with the answer. Well, I guess we'll call this one quits, and I'll try a new one tomorrow. BTW, those that got it right before the answer was posted: MrObsessive sjordan2 ABC auto industry N-J wayne
  8. There's no way to control the break pattern with a glass slide.
  9. Remember... no hints here! Email me the answer via PM or at harrypri@att.net. I need the model year, make and model name. Since a poster gave away the answer, I'll try again tomorrow. BTW, it's a 1986 Lamborghini LM002.
  10. How about some details? What kit(s) did you use?
  11. Amazing, as usual! All that scale hardware really brings things to life.
  12. WOW!!! Your machining skills are first rate, very nice so far.
  13. Cool! But how about a few more photos?
  14. Maybe we need a Model Cars thong...
  15. I think it would have sold pretty well. Just my opinion, of course... but I really think there would have been a market for a new Cougar. And given how cheaply and easily Ford could have made it happen (90% of a new Cougar already exists), I still have to wonder... why not? Even if it was a bust, it would have been a cheap experiment.
  16. I agree, if you are even somewhat interested in biking, you need to go to a dedicated bike shop. The bikes you find at the mass marketers are basically junk. They're cheap, with cheap components, and meant to appeal to the "lowest common denominator." Go to a real bike shop and you'll find a world of difference. Yes, you'll pay more for your bike, but over time, the extra $$$ you invest up front will pay dividends down the road. It's absolutely worth the higher initial cost to buy a quality bike from a dealer who carries a nice selection of quality brands–and the knowledge and expertise of the staff at a bike shop are something you can't get at a "department store."
  17. I agree, the Marauder was ill-conceived... basically trying to "hip up" an old man's car... consumers obviously didn't buy it (literally and figuratively)... But a new Cougar? Seems almost too obvious. It would have given L-M a "performance" car, it would have sparked some interest in younger buyers (by that I mean people under 90!!!), and if nothing else, it would surely have created some buzz for the L-M brand, all at a very minimal $$$ investment for Ford. I just have to wonder... why not???

    2007 GT500

Looks like maybe you finally read your camera's instruction manual!
  19. Six to eight weeks.
  20. Cranky... are you expecting the apocalypse... or rooting for it???!!!
  21. BTW... it could be pretty cool to specialize in building models only of extinct brands... Mercury, Plymouth, Olds, Packard, Stude, etc.
  22. Sequential turn signals, YES! I think they're cool! (I just installed them on my Mustang!) I think a Mustang-based Cougar would have been a no-brainer for Ford. All the mechanicals already exist (Mustang)... all they needed was a different interior and new exterior sheetmetal. I agree, a new Cougar would definitely have sparked interest in the Mercury brand (especially a new commercial with that hot Mercury chick that always says "You gotta put Mercury on your list!"). I know that Ford must have considered a new Cougar... I just wonder why it was never given the ok.
  23. Mike is right, it's a 1950 Studebaker Commander.
  24. Get rid of those cartoon goofy wheels and you'd have a beautiful model...
