  1. Prize? You bet. You just won the satisfaction that comes with a job well done... Oh, did you mean cash? Sorry... I'm broke this week.
  2. I don't think it's possible to judge a model correctly if you're not allowed to see everything... top, bottom, what's under the hood. If the model can be displayed so that the judges can see all of it (hood open, mirrored base, etc.) then I have no problem with the "No Touch" rule. In fact, if it was my model on the table I wouldn't want anyone handling it. If broken or possibly "destroyed" models are the price to pay for entering a contest, like you say... then count me out!
  3. Well... you had a good track record! Final vote: 25 REAL, 40 MODEL. Once again, I managed to fool a lot of you, but most of you were on to me... it's a MODEL! Next ROM coming MONDAY!
  4. Execution of Pvt. Slovik starred Martin Sheen as Eddie Slovik, it came out in the early 70s, I think. And Pelham 123 was a made-for-TV movie years before it was a theatrical release. I don't remember many details, it was long ago, but I seem to remember Walter Matthau was in it? But I do remember that it was good. I'm not sure if these old made-for-TV movies are available these days.I recently watched Lizzie Borden on youtube, but the problem is it's chopped up into about 6-7 "episodes." Maybe hulu would have these movies in one piece? Edit: Pelham 123 was originally a theatrical movie with Walter Matthau (the version I remember seeing), then a made-for-TV movie, and finally a theatrical move again (Denzel Washington???)
  5. Yep, old George is a good guy.
  6. Hmmmmm... I never noticed that. Probably part of the forum software and not something easily changed.
  7. Look for a feature on how the box art for this one was created in the next issue of MCM!
  8. "The Execution of Pvt. Slovik?" "The Taking of Pelham 123?"
  9. Don't know if it's on disc. It starred Elizabeth Montgomery as Lizzie in a very un-Samantha-like role. Great stuff.
  10. Better than "Duel?" "Roots?" "Rich Man, Poor Man?" "Brian's Song?" "The Legend of Lizzie Borden?" And so many more that I can't think of now?
  11. I watched it as a kid, in the early 70s. Great show. I also liked Bonanza. Whatever happened to TV westerns? There used to be tons of them, now not a single one. Gunsmoke Maverick Have Gun, Will Travel Bonanza Wild, Wild West Rawhide (Clint Eastwood got his start there) Alias Smith and Jones High Chapparal The Rifleman Hec Ramsey Big Valley Laramie And many more I can't remember off the top of my head. A whole genre of TV drama gone. Strange...
  12. If you ever want to sell it, let me know...
  13. That windshield visor kind of limits forward visibility, doesn't it???
  14. That's exactly the problem. Run this place too strictly and you turn off a lot of people. Too loose and you also turn off a lot of people! A classic "no win" situation if there ever was one. Can't we just rely on COMMON SENSE here???? You all do remember what that is, don't you? I mean, come on! I'm pretty sure we all know what the "swear words" are... do we really need an itemized list? And I think we can all figure out on our own what "name calling" is. And as far as names in your posts... there's no way to enforce that other than by banning people who won't cooperate. I've sent many PMs to people, and most of them have added their names, but there are still some who just flat-out refuse... and I have no idea why. That lame excuse about "identity theft" is bogus, as I've explained here about a bazillion times. As far as banning the offenders, that's Gregg's call.
  15. The rules in place here were agreed to by everyone when they signed on. Becoming a member here includes the provision that you agree to abide by the rules in place. Everyone here joined voluntarily, so you shouldn't complain about the rules now, since you agreed to abide by them when you joined. If you think your "freedoms" are being compromised here, there are plenty of other places you could sign on to.
  16. Your models are absolutely perfect. I've never seen cleaner building, and your paint is flawless. Amazing work, I wish I could do that!
  17. Fury, I'm glad to see that you've decided to stay.
  18. Erik's link works. That is too cool! I wonder why this idea never took off, it's pretty clever.
  19. Uh... now there's no link!
  20. Ummm. nope. Some "treasure hunting" website???
  21. Or the whole thing could be a scam run by just one guy who thinks he's putting one over on all of us. I wouldn't be surprised if there is no "brother" at all...
  22. Link doesn't work.
  23. It's a PITA x2! Although each of us who weren't picked got a big fat check for $17.20 for our time. So divided by the hours I spent at the courthouse today, that averages out to about $3.50 an hour. WOO HOO!!!
