  1. 1/8 scale, hand crafted, limited series of 199 models. Price: $4,700.
  2. I build lots of other stuff too. In fact, this past year I built nothing but planes and ships... not one car! So I would also like to have an "Other Models" section. However, there's only one person who can make that happen. If you guys are serious about it, I suggest you PM Gregg directly. If he thinks that there's enough interest he might just do it.
  3. It's fine with me... but I guarantee that someone will complain about an "off topic" post... We just went through WWIII around here regarding "off topic" posts... I really don't want WWIV starting up.
  4. There's a new aftermarket product out called "ScaleWater." It's a powder that you stir into water... there's a chemical reaction that takes place, and the 1:1 water is condensed down to 1/24 its original volume (1/24 scale), which is perfect to use for scale dioramas. Look for "ScaleWater" at your LHS...
  5. You don't have to be into sprint cars to recognize a good model. Nice job...
  6. If you're into large scale stuff be sure to check out the "Big Boyz" section...
  7. It's kind of confusing, because kits are sometimes reissued with new box art and a new kit #, but in reality it's the same old kit inside the box... other times an old kit will be updated by adding new parts, maybe with new box art, maybe with old "retro" style art. There are many variables... best bet is to ask about a specific kit here... there are plenty of people who will be able to give you the details.
  8. Final vote: 19 REAL, 31 MODEL. I fooled a lot of you... but not enough! It's a model! Next ROM coming Monday!
  9. Under Glass.
  10. Then how did you see this?
  11. A guy joins a monastery and takes a vow of silence. He’s only allowed to say two words every seven years. After the first seven years, the elders bring him in and ask him for his two words. “Cold floors,” he says. They nod and send him away. Seven more years pass. They bring him back in and ask for his two words. He clears his throats and says, “Bad food.” They nod and send him away. Seven more years pass. They bring him in for his two words. “I quit,” he says. “That’s not surprising,” the elders say. “You’ve done nothing but complain since you got here.”
  12. NASCAR???
  13. I think the biggest stumbling block up to now has been the cost of the equipment, which would make the cost of the parts necessarily very high... which in turn limits your potential customer base. I'm sure that as prices for the equipment come down, allowing the prices of the parts to come down, this technology is going to become a big part of the hobby.
  14. Any relation to Al or Peg Bundy???
  15. Hey, that's cool! Now there's a model you don't see every day!
  16. Thanks, Tim. PM sent.
  17. Do you input/output one piece at a time, or can several be done at once? In other words, is the process quick enough to be considered "mass production" or is it still a matter of one piece at a time?
  18. I've only seen whatever you guys have posted, never had anything in person.
  19. Is the surface texture an unavoidable by-product of the process? Any way possible to create "smooth" parts?
  20. Thanks for checking in with us! Glad to hear all is well.
  21. That's pretty cool! Very clever, who would ever have thought of a '32 Chrysler as a basis for a PU truck? Well, I guess you would...
  22. That's really the best way to handle it. If there's anyone here who rubs you the wrong way, it's much better to just ignore that person than to post stuff that will inevitably lead to an argument. By now evilone's trading history is pretty well documented, so there's really no need to keep harping on it. At this point, if you decide to trade with him and you get burned, it's your own fault.
  23. Ha ha! A Ferrari in Detroit? With the economy being what it is, I don't think you'll find a whole lotta Ferraris in Motown. I hear even Dave Bing rides the bus to work!
  24. Talk about being ahead of your time. Today the trend is hiding all the underhood "guts" under a sleek plastic cover. The Chrysler boys had that figured out 50 years ago!
