  1. I know I'll probably catch all he** for saying this,,,,,, but no one says that you have to buy every new kit that comes out..!!!
  2. So when (drool) can we expect to see this sweet little gem released into our hot little hands (drool)...??
  3. Al, that is a great looking model. I hope you guys have fun at the LIARS Show. Say Hi to the guys for me. I wish I could be there.
  4. I second that Derrick, that is pretty darn sweet looking.
  5. That looks pretty cool Jim. and VERY sinister looking. Not to bust your shoes,,, but... did those hairs grow on the radiator..??
  6. Dave, those are really cool. Engine wiring, fuzzy upholstery and opening doors...... you were really an "advanced modeler" back in those good old days.
  7. Fantastic tutorial on those cushions Harry, I love it..
  8. That looks really great Peter. Classic Metal Works makes some nice stuff. I've already built their '55 Olds kit and am currently working on their '53 Cadillac which is a really nice looking car. The boxes sometimes say that the cars are 1/24 scale and sometimes say 1/26 scale. They look to be a bit smaller than 1/25 scale so I think the 1/26 scale is more correct.
  9. Great job on both models Torgny, they look great.
  10. If you're really adventurous Ray, you could try putting BMF on those spokes. It would probably take awhile to do and also be a frustrating and time consuming as all heck, but it could work.
  11. That is looking really great Harry. The color contrasts are super.
  12. That looks really cool Jim. Great job.
  13. That's a dynamite looking model Ron, great job.
  14. That looks pretty cool Tom. Nice job.
  15. That is a gorgeous looking build Jay. Great job.
  16. That's a beautiful car Alan.
  17. Well Turbo, that's not necessarily the best way to run a model show. Yes, you want vendors to buy your tables (obviously to help offset the cost of putting on the show) and to have a good, wide selection of goodies for the show participants and spectators to hopefully buy, however, the first and foremost consideration should be for the show's participants and entrants in order to make them want to keep coming back to the show in the future. I'm not just talking out of my hat here. When I lived back in NY, as a longtime member of the Long Island Auto Replica Society (L.I.A.R.S Club). for about 12 years I helped to plan, set up, get vendors, get trophy sponsors, promote, advertise, judge, and whatever else might have been needed in order to help the club to put on the best show we possibly could. Hopefully the powers that be within T.O.P.G. Club will take the necessary steps to be better prepared and organized for future shows.
  18. That is an interesting looking car Al. You did your usual good job on it.
  19. Yeah Jeff, I met George at the show today. It was a small show by some standards... some nice vendors,,, I went to this show last year and won a Third Place award in Street Rod, but they ran out of their award ribbons and had to mail one to me over a month later. Today I took 3 Third Place awards (Street Rod, Custom & Factory Stock) for which I was very pleased...... However, for the Factory Stock award, they AGAIN had ran out of their award ribbons and said they would have to get one to me......AGAIN......!!!!!! and they couldn't tell me which car the award was for (I had entered 2 cars in the Factory Stock Class). Believe me, I'm not upset that I didn't get to bring home another little ribbon as I know it'll show up in my mailbox eventually. My question is: How does a model club who advertises First through Third Place Awards in 8 or 9 Classes run out of the awards 2 YEARS IN A ROW...??? Can you say poor planning or what? Plus, I had mentioned to a couple of their club members at the admissions table that no one from their club had listed any info on this show on this model car Forum. The response was "Yeah, we should have done that." Ya think..?? I will have to give serious consideration about attending this show in the future.
  20. Welcome to our plastic playground Christopher.
  21. Thank you all very much. It's funny how models that I'm not totally happy with seem to be a hit with everyone else. Bob, I had planned on actually extending the rear bumper with pieces from a second bumper that I had, but at the end of the build I couldn't find the second bumper..!!!
  22. That is one very ratty looking truck. I love it... and that interior is great..!!!
