  1. I'd like to see updated versions of the Victoria AND the Phaeton.
  2. Ewww Bryan... How gross... You've gotta look before you take a swig from now on... Javier... No thank you.... You can keep the 102 degrees thank you... LOL. Oscar... No problem man... Those Chevy taillights look cool... Nice bodywork getting them in there. Dr. Cranky... Hey it's NOT raining today, but a bit on the breezy side... Hopefully I can at least shoot some primer today.
  3. Thanks Fred. I appreciate the offer. I will let you know if I need anything. Right now I'm just waiting on the weather so I can paint...
  4. Hey James. It was good to meet you. Hope you enjoyed the show as I did.
  5. Thanks Jim. That's the way I'll be going with the keg...
  6. Thanks for the kind words guys. Jim, stink bugs are weird looking flying bugs that resemble shield shaped beetles. When you smash them they STINK horribly...I usually spray them with Ortho spray and they take a few minutes to die... My wife just smashes them with her shoe. They try to get into your home to get away from the cold weather.
  7. Congratulations on a well-deserved award Darren. That truck is just plain awesome...
  8. Great looking model Randy.
  9. Thanks Samuel.
  10. Yes I did Tim and it was a very good show. Lots of vendors, even though I only bought a couple of distributors from M.A.D.
  11. Thanks for the encouraging words guys. Looks like I'll be repainting the keg in wood color...
  12. Yeah we hate those stink bugs too here. I wish there was some natural predator that would sort of greatly reduce their numbers, but I guess nothing in nature likes anything that stinks so bad when you kill it...
  13. Oh yeah Bryan... Those freakin stink bugs...!!! between my wife and myself we must kill at least a dozen or more a day on the back wall of our house on the deck... I spray them with bug killer but my wife just smashes them.... and yeah, she found out how bad they stink when you do that... LOL.
  14. Nooooo... You didn't....... Not the model..... Polished through the paint huh...???
  15. Cool project Bryan. I just LOVE chromed reversed wheels.....
  16. Since I can't spray any primer or paint on my current project due to the crappy, rainy weather here, I've been rooting around in my stashes, parts bins and kits... One of the things that I've wanted to eventually do is sort of a Car Show Diorama. I've had a couple of Trophy Parts Packs for a long time so I pulled them out and sort of detailed some of them with different clear paints and wood colors. This is what I wound up with... Then i was digging through a T-Bucket/Tall T double kit that I have in my stash (I eventually want to make a T-Bucket Hot Rod) and I pulled out the Beer Keg Gas Tank. I glued it together and painted it aluminum. I don't know whether to leave it as is, or to sand the woodgrain smooth and repaint it aluminum, or, to repaint the woodgrain a wood color, and then foil the rings around the keg. Whaddya think...??? Then... i was rooting through a 1928 Lincoln "Gangster" kit and found 2 tiny liitle hand grenades. I drilled holes in the bottom of them, CA glued them to straight pins, painted them.... and then went a little crazy and cut 2 key rings from a PE set and glued them to the grenades....!!! I think that they'll make interesting shifters in a T-Bucket don't you...??? Geeze, I hope it stops raining soon so I can get back to modeling.... LOL...
  17. I started this project about 3 weeks ago and have been working on it off and on since then. I don't like the engine in the kit but i decided that I didn't want to have to change 6 things and create an involved project by using a different Ford engine from another kit. So I decided that this will be a Curbside Custom. It will have the chassis to hold the wheels on, and an interior. So far I've done the body prep and sanded off the emblems, etc., and filled in the holes for the hood ornament and door handles. I used Bondo to fill in part of the openings for the side trim on the rear quarters and will be using modified side trim from the kit. I frenched the headlight bezels and smoothed the taillight openings. Plans are for chromed reversed wheels in front, Lake Pipes, dummy spots, mirrors.... Color will be Duplicolor Night Shadow, which is a dark, midnight Blue. I'll be calling this car "Midnight Rose". I'm using the trunk-mounted spare tire piece from the kit with a dechromed moon disc glued to it. I took out an old Blueprinter Grille Parts Pack I've had for years and put together the '54 Chevy grille bar with all 17 teeth that I could find in the 2 parts packs I had. This is what I came up with... I can't prime or paint right now because it has been raining for days here in western PA. As soon as we can see the sun here I'll be shooting primer and hopefully paint too.
  18. I was wearing a MCM Forum Member nametag that I got from Gregg Hutchings at the NNL East a couple of years ago.... Some people thought that i worked for the magazine...!!! I said no... sorry... I just thought i would "introduce myself" to any other Forum members who happened to be at the show... Only ONE guy said anything to me about being a Forum member. He was sitting at a table with his wife while I was scarfing down a couple of hot dogs. The show was pretty cool and there were definitely a lot of vendors. I only bought a couple of distributors from M.A.D. Got lucky and came home with some gold... My '53 Ford Pickup surprised the heck out of me... It took awards for Best Pickup and Best Ford. I NEVER expected it to do anything at all. Just goes to show you that you just never know what the Judges will or won't like.
  19. I use the clear acetate tops from old Christmas or greeting card boxes. My wife saves all sorts of stuff for me to use in the hobby.
  20. Beautiful build Marcos... I love the color combination.
  21. Wish I could be there John... I miss it all.

Hey Michael... Cool job on the radiator hose... is that wire wrapped around it..?? Looks like one of those Cool-Flex hoses... Pretty neat...
  23. I also use Elmer's glue for glass with no problems at all. I squirt a puddle on a paper plate and apply it using a toothpick around all the edges of the glass being installed. You have to let it thoroughly dry (overnight is good) before handling or moving the body. It holds very well and is stronger than you'd think it would be.

Great job Michael... I dug out my Blueprinter engine parts pack and have a cam shaft and a crank shaft all ready for my next Rod build...
