  1. Wow...... great job Tom and quite imaginative. It's great being able to cobble stuff together from bits and pieces from parts bins...
  2. All I can say is WOW... I certainly hope you've got a good insurance rider on all that stuff on your homeowner's policy.
  3. For kits, so far I like Model Roundup...... For resin it's either The Modelhaus or Replicas & Miniatures of MD...... For PE and/or aluminum & metal stuff, of course there's Model Car Garage and Detail Master......
  4. Rob, I think I've got something else I'll be sending to you that you might want to try to use in this build... You'll see when you get it (them)... so don't seal up the interior yet... But I have to say... with all the work you put and are continuing to put into the interior of this car, it's a shame that it isn't a convertible to really show it off.... although... is the top insert removable...??? (Forgive me if I'm brain dead on this... LOL)
  5. Sorry Michael... no flames on this one. Thanks for the compliment on the interiors Sam... I love doing up interiors.
  6. Great job Tom. I started work on a Falcon Ranchero kit about 12 years ago using some old styline custom front and rear pieces which remind me of your model.... Maybe I should dig it out of obscurity and finish it up... I'm pretty sure that the squadron putty that I used on it way back then has fully dried and won't shrink anymore......LOL.
  7. The only model club I can think of that may be in the area you are looking is the Town of Newburgh Model Car Club. If that is good for you, you can find them online. They are a great bunch of guys.
  8. Thanks for the kind words guys. No Jim, there are no flamethrowers in those rear pipes... LOL.
  9. Picture of the rear of the car... http://s1198.beta.photobucket.com/user/ramfins59/media/53FORDREAR.jpg.html?sort=6&o=106
  10. Well I finally finished up this build which turned out taking longer than originally expected for a Curbside build. While it looks OK, I'm not totally happy with the way it turned out... I guess I'm my own worst critic. It looks good on my shelf so that's all that really matters right? The paint is Duplicolor Night Shadow (a very dark blue metallic). Details are: Frenched headlights, AMT Blueprinter Parts Pack 54 Chevy tooth grille with 17 teeth, chromed reversed front wheels, spotlights, mirrors, Bob Dudek Lake Pipes, modified side trim, the kit skirts, and Bob Dudek recessed taillights. I'm calling the car Midnight Rose (Rose decal on the kit's trunk mounted spare cover. Thanks for looking everyone. Feel free to comment, good or bad. http://s1198.beta.ph...ml?sort=6&o=108 http://s1198.beta.ph...ml?sort=6&o=107 http://s1198.beta.photobucket.com/user/ramfins59/media/53FORDREAR.jpg.html?sort=6&o=106
  11. Nice job as usual Lyle.
  12. Nah...... Pretty ugly is more like it.
  13. When I first started back into car modeling back in '91 I guess I finished about a model a month... Now with better skills, the proper tools and a LOT more patience, now I'm lucky if I can finish 4 or 5 models in a year. Of course, now the models usually come out a whole lot better than they did 20 years ago.
  14. Hey Jairus, that is a cool looking wagon.... Dillon, your model should come out pretty cool... good luck with it and be sure to show us pictures when it's done.
  15. Yeah I was wondering if the "junky remarks" were gonna be deleted, or if this thread was gonna be locked... which would have been a real shame. Glad to see that it is still going... Thanks again Harry.
  16. Bryan (I'm just pickin' on ya here...) don't you mean "the interior parts still need TO BE weathered"... I guess it's just a Pennsylvania thing.... Everyone leaves out the verbs.... Like saying "the grass needs cut"... instead of "the grass needs TO BE cut"... LOL...
  17. Great looking model.... Those "fuzzy dice" are HUGE...!!!
  18. Thanks Bill. I finished the BMF work, the interior, and the glass is in. Only another couple of hours of final assembly work and this one will be done. Pics will be in Under Glass hopefully in a couple of days.
  19. While I was not building models in the 80's (I didn't rediscover the hobby until 1991) I never was into the"billet" look... I've got more of a traditional Rod & Custom taste. I did however venture once into the Pro Street thing as evidenced by my '58 Chevy Pro Street Sedan Delivery model as follows......
  20. Well, I've learned what a GREAT, diverse, international community of helpful and talented people are on this Forum. Everyone freely shares their techniques, "tricks" and "secrets" with all who are interested and willing to learn something new to help them build better models. It is a great resource for answers, information and help with any project a builder may have going on. Thank you to Gregg and the Moderators for creating, updating and keeping this Forum operating.
  21. Detail Master also has a good selection of flocking.
  22. Glad to help... Isn't this Forum great for getting info on things like this...???
  23. John, you by no means messed up.... I just wondered why you didn't use the metalizer paint... It looks cool the way you did it...
  24. Yeah I wish an aftermarket company would put out these ripple wheel covers... I know I'd use them on a bunch of different builds.
  25. And she's STILL your girlfriend......??????
