  1. Yeah Dean, you can participate by continuing to look in on us and hopefully enjoy all the great work that is exhibited here. Please feel free to comment on whatever you see and like.... even what you don't like too.
  2. Jim this just keeps getting better all the time... Keep up the great work.
  3. Looks real sweet Michael. I hope all is well with you. Stay well buddy.
  4. Great job Lyle. I love the look and the color combo.
  5. Jim this is just too friggin cool... Great imagination.... The overall diorama will be a real winner.
  6. C'mon Mike...... All John has to do is unscrew the wing nut on the air cleaner to lift it off so everyone will be able to see the linkage......!!!!!! I can't believe the amount of detail John manages to get into a 1/25 scale model engine...!!! Nuts & bolt ends, tranny linkage, secondary electrical wiring (he wired the alternator...!!!), dipstick, oil breather hoses. That's it.... I'm gonna take up stamp collecting..........
  7. Am I the only weird one who likes the look of the Charger with the '59 Chevy taillights.... and yeah, the '40 Ford with the Edsel snout.....
  8. Very nice build Ron. Where is that grille from...??? ...... Oh and are you sure that your oil is topped off...??? LOL.
  9. I definitely agree with Tom Geiger... Spend some time each day, be it an hour or several hours, on the project at hand, and before you know it the project is completed. I work on completing at least a couple of assemblies or detailing tasks at each bench session and usually can leave the workbench each day with a positive feeling of accomplishment. I understand that not everyone can spend time at their workbench every day due to work/family/life in general, but, I'm retired so I have the advantage of lots of "free time".
  10. Great job so far Rob...... But whatever happened to the Pirate themed Merc...??? I haven't seen it in Under Glass yet.
  11. Niko... there's nothing at all boring about your English... or your model. Your English is better than some Americans here.
  12. Great job Jim... I love it.
  13. Yeah, but you can see all the dust though... LOL.
  14. Well...... I turned 65 back in April. My Grandson is now walking and starting to talk. Our family has their health. The roofs over our heads are secure. The cabinets and freezer are well-stocked. I finished 4 models so far. I'm building one model for a friend who is alive, and another for one who is no longer here. It has been a good year so far, and I had a lot to be thankful for on Turkey Day.
  15. John I am amazed to see the speed with which you get things done on the models you work on. I get on a roll some days and get a lot of stuff accomplished, but you're like a madman...
  16. Yeah, same problems here... Not all the time... but yes, it is very frustrating.
  17. OK.... Stop the world... I wanna get off... Too much too take in here... I'm going down to my workshop and step on everything...!!! Geeze...... Talk about being blown away. Talented people is definitely an understatement.
  18. No John, I was actually thinking of leaving it just flat black or "suede" as Dave called it... He painted his 1:1 '32 Ford Sedan Highboy in "black suede" with a red interior, red steel wheels and red frame, although he did flame the front hood sides. I think the model will look pretty cool just done in black with the red wheels, and the photo-etched grille, since it will be such an unusual build for a '36. By the way, this project is now on temporary hold due to taking on another project for a friend who I went to H.S. with way back in the early 60's. He used to build models back then but stopped and hasn't built in many years. He's got a '65 Rambler American and he just got a nice Promo from EBAY along with replacement bumpers and grille from The Modelhaus. I offered to build a replica of his 1:1 car for him and he sent me all the stuff which I got in the mail today. It's a curbside Promo model with an interior so it shouldn't take me too long to finish it up for him. He'll also be sending me the paint to match his car. I'll get back to this '36 Ford once I finish the Rambler build. Hope all is well with you and your family down there in SC. Stay well buddy.
  19. Congratulations Bruce... That's better than winning a trophy at a show...
  20. Yeah I've used toothpicks and straight pins for painting small details and for applying glues and epoxy. The round pin heads get used for tonneau cover snaps and some dashboard knobs and tops of master cylinder reservoirs. I've also used some round wound guitar string (the D string) for curb feelers.
  21. Made some progress today... I finished hogging out the molded in exhaust panels from the chassis and put sheet styrene in place. I drilled recesses into where the horn screens would go next to the grille and I will put amber MV lenses in the recesses for turn signals and will then put small round PE screens over them. I found teardrop taillights in my parts stash. For wheels I'm using the '36 Ford kit steel wheels with '40 Ford trim rings set into ReplMinCOMD resin big n' little whitewalls. I think I'll go with the flathead engine from the Revell chopped '48 Ford kit. I'm leaning towards a flat black paint job with the steel wheels painted red, and, black and red for the interior with a banjo steering wheel. I'll post some pictures when I get more things assembled.
  22. Absolutely a great tip Chris.... I've knocked over 2 Tenax bottles over the years. Thanks.
  23. Now that's a really cool concept... and those wheels look great too.
  24. Bob Dudek made a seamless scoop for the Willys... Made from CNC milled aluminum.
  25. That is such a cool build Kerry.
