  1. I was able to finish the Little Red Wagon. Here's some pics: Yes, the doors do open: And here she is doing a wheelstand
  2. This is a copy of the car that Richard Petty won the 1979 Daytona 500 with. As far as I know, this was the only race that featured the car as it appears here without the STP decal on the hood. This was made from a resin body that I picked up used. All I can say is that I absolutely love the Duplicolor scratch filling primer for resin bodies. This body was scratched and beat up and even warped, however that primer worked out great on this to help smooth things out. The chassis was modified from an old Ford Thunderbird chassis. The wheels and tires were ones that I cast myself. Anyway, here's how it came out:
  3. Just in time for Halloween, I finished up Elvira's '58 Macabre Mobile. This was a rather fun build. It was built mostly box-stock with only a few additions and modifications. One note if you choose to get this - the interior decals are incomplete and don't cover everything they need to - paint is needed in the spaces "in between". Anyway, here's the body shots: and here's a closer shot of the interior. I really dig the skull shift knob and I just had to add dice hanging from the mirror. Here's under the hood: Here's the underside:
  4. Here's my copy of Davey Allison's #28 Havoline Thunderbird. The decals disintegrated when they hit water, so I ordered another set that wanted to roll upon themselves. It was a pain, but I finally got everything to lay down as it should. I hope you like it as much as I do:
  5. This is a snap-together kit. I hated the box art and wanted to make mine look better. Here's what the box art looked like: And here's my version of this kit:
  6. Here's the #43 Dodge Intrepid kit. Ignition and engine were wired, and the pre-painted body was re-painted Hope you enjoy: and the engine compartment:
  7. This was made from the Lindberg kit. This one started relatively simple, then became a nightmare. The finish was nail polish and I painted the whole body and all panels as one unit to ensure an even finish. The box top shows a white top, but I wanted more of a brushed aluminum look, so I took some creative license Here's the interior dash: The doors open and the windows roll up and down: The hood opens to show the engine:
  8. Well, here is the completed Accurate Miniatures Corvette Grand Sport. The kit I received had no photo-etched parts or decals, so I made due without the P/E stuff and made my own decals. It's not based on any specific car. This kit is really wonderful with lots of detail everywhere you look. It is also a pain in the @$$ in some places making things fit as they should. I would love to buy another one sometime. Well, on to the pics: Oops - forgot to have the obligatory engine shot:
  9. Thanks, guys - those last couple were taken with my old camera and the color is a little off. I liked the blue and white one also, but I never did find out why the number on the roof was off-center. If anyone knows, I'd be curious to find out if there was a reason for it.
  10. Here's some of mine: Right now on the workbench is the '79 Oldsmobile
  11. Actually, it looks like these were made by Sandy Sanderson - check the website: http://www.sandyscancars.com/ Not nearly as nice of a story, but he does show how they are built as well as showing the cars themselves.
  12. Thanks for the comments, all. Michael, the blue is a light blue made by Rustoleum mixed with a little bit of white enamel. I am on a strict budget, so I have to make due with what I can many times. This way, I get enough paint for four cars or so for only about $4.
  13. Wonderful idea, Jacen. I didn't notice that before, but now that you pointed it out, I am sure going to get that done. Thanks for the heads up.
  14. Correct, Kevin - this was modeled from the Riverside race in June of 1970. Thanks for the comments, guys.
  15. I thinned the nailpolish with 2 parts nailpolish to 1 part lacquer. Then I just sprayed it through the airbrush. Thanks guys!
  16. The black is Krylon gloss black enamel. The reddish brown color is Max Factor Raisin Perle nailpolish
  17. I had built this a while back, but never had posted it. The kit was incomplete so I had to improvise on some of it. Paint is black enamel and Max Factor Raisin Perle nailpolish:
  18. Here's some pics of the JoHan Superbird I completed a while back. It was built pretty much box-stock. Sorry I hadn't posted in a while.
  19. Here's my daughter's car. She likes old Chevys and she loves Richard Petty, so after she had started building this stock '64 Chevy Impala, she decided to decorate it as a tribute car. She's very proud of this:
  20. Thank you both for your kind comments.
  21. Thank you, Mark and Bruce - I appreciate it very much
  22. Thank you guys - I appreciate it
  23. Thank you very much. I've long wanted this car so I am happy to have it now
  24. Thank you for the comments, guys. The red is from an old can that was missing its label, but judging by the size and the spray nozzle, it's a Testor's brand. The cap was bright red, so I thought I would give it a shot. I can't tell you the exact name of the paint since the label was missing. It's a bright red, but it's not fluorescent red.
  25. thank you, guys. I've never done a pickup before, so this was a definite change of pace. I had to do it for a group build on another site. It ended up being kinda fun.
